“Wonderful stay in Kamari Santorini”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

This hotel was rated no1 in Kamari and worth it. It is a small hotel with all the basics and a wonderful homely feeling. It is literally 100m from the sea and very affordable. Breakfasts are delicious with homemade jams etc and since there are only 12 rooms it certainly does not feel like a hotel. The host goes out of her way for guests and even made us toasted ham & cheese sandwhiches to have for lunch at the pool when we did not feel like going out.

We had read online about this hotel and about Tina the owner; but your really never know until you get there. Well all the reviews were correct!!! We arranged with the hotel to have someone pick us up and you'll want to do that also. It's crazy at the small port, and to see your name on a sign was a HUGE relief.
OK so aside from that Tina was wonderful hostess, she is sooooo sweet and kind. Couldn't seem to do enough for us, from making us drinks to arranging a car for us. I know the hotels do that for you but she was just sooo sincere about helping us. Her son asked us if we were going hiking to the church and I thought he meant the one right by the beach. Big deal right; NO he meant the one up the mountain to Ancient Thira. (a absolute must by the way) OH that one. I was so glad that they had said something; we would never known about it.
Great place because the beach is right there, and from our room upstairs we could see the beach and the road (you walk) to Ancient Thira very cool!!!
Breakfast was wonderful and Tina even makes her own jam and it's soooooooo GOOD!
You can shop to your hearts content, eat til you drop, drink too. Water sports are right there, art galleries.. Kamari Beach has it all. Really it does and the hotel is a 2 minute walk to it all. Close to it all without being noisy.
If you want a romantic night Ask her husband George about that. there's a restaurant that he told my son and his wife about..they couldn't say enough about it.
So to recap for you: great family hotel, Very clean, FABULOUS OWNER Tina, 2 minute walk to the promenade (that's what they call where everything is by the beach),wonderful hiking, swimming, water sports, beautiful swimming pool. If you are fortunate enough to stay there tell Tina hi
Also very reasonably priced too.

Room Tip: Our room was a standard room, good for my 15 year old and myself. Great view. My other son had a L...

Chez Sophie is very well placed for all the local restaurants and within a minutes walk to the beach. Local bus stop 2 minutes walk away with regular service . The room we had was a little smaller than expected but perfectly adequate. It also had a lovely balcony which we used every night overlooking the delightful pool. The room was very well appointed and decorated, everything that you could need was on hand including a safe & fridge. It was very clean and sheets & towels changed regularly. Tina was a mine of helpful information for us- recommended restaurants that we may not have otherwise tried and advised us on trips to make. Breakfasts were delicious and included home made jams & cakes. All in all a lovely relaxing time enjoying the location and wonderful weather.

Had quite a nice stay here. Hard working pleasant Maitre d'. Room small, contains safe, fridge, hairdryer, small tv and air conditioning plus shower en suite. Nice outside sitting area.Convenient to the beach. Breakfast basic but adequate.Pool small but due to the proximity to the sea not important.Just three minutes from the bus stop. The service is frequent .We used it over the three days and never waited more than five minutes. Ask to be let off at Mama Mia's.Nice quiet location near all amenities.Welcome drink went down a treat.Very good information on local places to visit.Santorini is a beautiful island with spectacular views. We had a lovely time in this very well run spotlessly kept small establishment.A kettle in our room would have been wonderful for a late night cuppa after a long day of sight seeing.

Tina and Co made our stay very enjoyable. Hotel was quiet and relaxing and handy for the town centre. Good amenities, the free wi-fi particularly useful. This is definitely a value for money place that we will definitely be going back to. Thank you Tina for making us so welcome.

Having been lucky enough over the years to stay in a number of 5* hotels, I didn't have particularly high expectations of Chez Sophie: sure, it had great reviews, location seemed good and the owner sounded very pleasant...but nothing particularly out of the ordinary. How wrong I was!!! Forget the official star rating - this must me one of the most delightful places to stay on Earth. OK, so the TV in the room is a bit small and pokey - but why would you want to spend time watching that when you have the delights of Santorini on your doorstep. It's true that the pool isn't really big enough for a "proper" swim but who cares because the sea and its stunning rocky backdrop is a 60 second walk away. And yes, the buffet breakfast doesn't have the variety of a big chain hotel, but the greek yoghurt and homemade jams are far more delicious (and healthy!). The real star of the show is of course the owner, Tina. Nothing was too much trouble, we felt at home immediately, every single one of her recommendations was absolutely spot on. Couldn't have been better - thank you Tina!

We stayed here for 2 weeks, Tina is an amazing host. We were picked up from the airport by George ( her husband) and From the moment we arrived we felt like part of the family. We were getting married in Santorini and Tina and her daughter Eirini were really helpful, driving us all over the island to collect flowers and decoration. They organised transfers for the whole wedding party and even decorated all the balconies with bows on the big day.

Back to the hotel... Really nice clean rooms with comfy beds, spotless pool area and delicious homemade breakfasts. Nothing is too much trouble for Tina. The location was great a short walk the beach, lots of little supermarkets near by. My family enjoyed it so much my parents booked a holiday here for next year (only 5 days into their current holiday!). My sister who had 2 children (1 of which was 5 weeks old) couldn't believe how easy Tina had made it for them, they organised a transfer with baby seat from the airport, each plug socket in their room had a plug guard in it and Tina was great with the children.

We had such a wonderful time we will be back again and again, a true holiday to remember
