“Best Holiday Ever”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Me and my boyfriend (23 and 21) just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel and had a brilliant time; it is definitely a 3 star plus. The location is perfect in the middle of the resort close enough to everything.

Spent most of our time on the roof which was lovely and quiet did have to get up early for sun beds in the first week but by the second week lots were available. Jacuzzi’s were lovely and refreshing however every time we would get in they would turn off- typical (they’re on a 30 minute timer).

Reception staff were always very helpful. You can book a courtesy room for the day you leave as checkout is 12pm so you have a half an hour slot before your picked up for the airport for a shower.

The aircon in room wasn’t very good, was boiling until the last two days when it started to work again-very strange. Also could have done with a double bed instead of two singles as kept falling down the crack!

Bar staff were awesome they were always so smiley and never looked grumpy, they even started making our drinks without us asking for them very good service.

The food was nice especially breakfast, fry ups every day. Cheese burgers from the snack bar were amazing I had 2 some days. By the middle of the second week it did get a bit repetitive so we ventured out. We had heard mixed reviews about Aberdeen steakhouse house but thought we would give it a go £8.95 for 3 course and we weren’t disappointed it was lovely would go back there. Another night we had all you can eat Chinese from the Slow Boat £7.95 with 30% off (Wednesday and Sunday) drinks were also BOGOF and very strong, was a bargain at 20 euros for both of us.

We spent a day at Oasis Park free bus included 24 euros for the day, is well worth the money, so many animals to see and we got a photo of a sealion kissing us!

We also went on lots of chipmunk hunts they come and eat cucumber out of your hand. We found that they come out at midday to sun themselves on the rocks.

Beer was cheap £1.50 a pint of san Miguel in many places. Kings Arms was our favourite pub as the cricket was on we visited it a lot. The man working there would change the channel whenever we wanted he even said I could go and watch the soaps there if I wanted.

In conclusion we would definitely come back to his hotel, it is great value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a double bed when you first check in

After all of the negative reviews I was really worried about staying at the Hotel Costa Caleta but overall me and my boyfriend had an excellent week!

Check in was quick and easy and when we got to the room we were surprised at how large and clean it was. The maids did a great job and provided clean towels on 5 out of 7 days. The only issue I had is that the beds were really uncomfortable and had a really irritating waterproof sheet on that made a lot of noise if you shuffle about in your sleep. Also the walls were paper thin but we didn't have too many problems with that (other than one night where we were kept up by adults chanting football songs by the pool at 2:30am!!).

Food was what I was most worried about but there was a massive selection of meat and vegetarian options with a full salad bar. Breakfast was the highlight and during lunch and evenings the chef was always preparing something fresh. Personally I thought the food was hot enough but there is a microwave for those who like food heated. You also have the option of getting a packed lunch if you want to go out for the day.

Drinks were great with sangria, beer, soft drinks and hot drinks all available on a self serve basis, then also wine with lunch and spirits on an evening. It could have been improved by having water machines on each floor because if you run out of water during the night its a long trip to the bar.

The main ground floor pool is a no go if you want a relaxing time as sun beds are taken at 8am and by mid morning the entertainment are in full flow (on the rather loud sound system). However the roof terrace was perfect with a nice breeze, free sunbeds and self serve bar. I would say however that the pool and two Jacuzzi up there are FREEZING!! So much so that I didnt even get in the pool.

Evening entertainment isn't my thing but there was always something on and the families seemed happy enough.

Over all its a good clean hotel with fantastic staff but could be improved with nicer beds, warmer pools and more sunbeds.

We stayed for 11 nights in June, and the only reasons I'm not giving five stars, are the air con, which wasn't that effective, and the soft drinks were too syrupy.....proper coke would have been much better, and I have been to all inclusive hotels which serve it. Food was excellent, plenty of choice, always hot. I loved that we could help ourselves to beer, wine, sangria, cold water and coffee at the poolside....sangria was lovely! Never had a problem with any of the staff, all were very friendly. Isabella on the bar had the brightest smile, and was never without it! Rooms large and clean, rooftop terrace too hot for me, but was great. Kids allowed up there with adults now. Visiting the chipmunk is a must...they are so tame. All in all a fabulous holiday, would love to go back.

just returned from a fab, fab, fab holiday here with my sister, 23 & 22.

as soon as we arrived we knew we'd chosen the right hotel; the reception staff were smiley and helpful, room was clean and spacious and the facilities were excellent.

the restaurant was run like a military operation so we never saw any tables waiting to be cleared, the staff were attentive, efficient and friendly and the food was hot with lots of choice.

self serve drinks all day plus tasty snacks from the pool bar. the water machine was great for filling up bottles with cold water as there is no fridge in the room.

the rooftop was heaven! always able to get a sunbed, the breeze was lovely, the pools and jacuzzis were super cold but really refreshing and it was peaceful without any kids running around!

you will have to be up at 7am to get your hands on one of the parasols around the main pool. they're like gold dust as there's only 6 of them for the whole hotel! this was our only complaint, but something that could so easily be sorted out. they are building a new pool bar/restaurant next to the main pool but we only heard building work one day.

location was just 10 mins walk into the centre where there's plenty of lively bars and shops. there is a gorgeous beach about 30 mins walk away next to the atlantico centre. it's well worth the extra 10-15 mins walk because the closer beach is really rocky, plus we saw chipmunks on the walk there everyday.

if you're off here then you'll have a fab time! great value and really a 4* so we've already recommended it to family.

we wanted a chilled week away and that's exactly what we got so we can't wait to return!

we visited hotel costa caleta 2 years ago as a couple this time came in a party of 9.would say the food was slightly better than the last time and it was fine then.never went up the roof this time so cant comment but if you want a sunbed at the main pool area you have to be up early.Still help yourself to beer and juice and sangria during the day, at night the bar can get very busy so cant understand why they only opened 2 bars on 3 occasions at night as this keeps queues to a minimum.the entertainment was so so dancing for kids then a quiz for adults and usual parrot and snake shows.Theirgym is well equipped and has everything except a treadmill also the gym guy seems very knowledgeable .entertainment during the day consists of pool darts a quiz or crazy golf on the roof, their sports court is hardly ever used which seems strange as it is underneath in the shade. They are constructing a new bar which I was told would be ready in a few weeks,we went out twice for something to eat to slowboat 1 up the stairs which is a buffet and was really good,restaurant22 is an indian just along from hotel which we visited last time and was just as good this time.we went to flower of Scotland bar a couple of times which is ok if you like a bet but drink is quite expensive, we preferred studs bar left then right out of hotel where a pint of san Miguel is only 1.50 and half litre of sangria for 4 euros.rooms are spotless and cleaners very hard working, there are 2 large tvs in bar at reception and 1 at bar in the back which show same channels as rooms sky sports 1 eurosport and sky news, all in all good stay at good hotel. ps a couple of the male bar staff could do with a bit of coaching in the smiling and manners department whereas the main man in the restaurant is a lovely pleasant and helpful guy.

Just returned from a week at Hotel Costa Caleta Fuerteventura - had the best time. Me and my girlfriend (both 23) had been looking forward to the holiday for ages and it didn't dissapoint.

Food was good, grab a plate and dig in, plenty to choose from, no complaints.
During the day you can help yourself to beer (amstel), cold water and soft drinks and there are machines located all around the hotel so you'll never go without. In the evening the bar staff do a great job, especially as it gets fairly busy at times.

Pool was nice, the upstairs jacuzzi's were where we spent most of our time though as it is a lot more chilled out. No complaints about the room either. Air con, decent shower, comfy bed.

The Thomas Cook entertainment section really put in the effort and were always friendly and approachable. One night in particular they hosted a "Mr costa caleta" competition which was hilarious!

Ignore the bad reviews, and if you are heading to Costa Caleta any time soon i'm sure you will have a great holiday.

Dan !
