“Fantastic, Relaxing Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2011

Just got back from a 7 night AI stay (14th-21st May), what can I say, it was excellent all round. Went with my husband for a relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got. Our room was lovely and spacious with a glorious view and a huge comfy double bed, the food was good and so much of it to choose from. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. Hotel is away from the centre (took us 20mins to walk there) but that was what we wanted. Plenty of sun beds for all but you still got the people running down first thing in the morning to put their towels on the beds, (quite amusing watching them from our balcony). There is no tea making facilities in the room so we took a kettle with us, you can hire one from reception but it is quite expensive. Will definitely be returning soon.

Just Come back from a 10 day break at this lovely hotel. This is the 3rd time we have stayed in the Elba Sara, and will no doubt return again. We stayed All inclusive this time and cannot fault the food or drinks on offer, the staff are extremely helpful and hardworking. the rooms are spotless and so is the restaurant, bars, and pool area. There is a lovely beach just a stone throw away, which is spotless and with some lovely man made pools, lovely for swimming in, if you don't mind fish swimming with you!
The Hotel is situated on the far end of the resort, and therefore, very quiet and peaceful. If you want discos and nightlife you would be better suited to correlejo further up the coast. The Village itself is very quiet, there are a few english or Irish bars which lower the tone a bit, but overall some pleasant shops, and resteraunts and an excellent chemist, should you need one. The Atlantico Shopping centre, which is situated directly next to the hotel, has some nice shops and a Superarket, also a Cinema and Bowling, don't be put off by this, it is very quiet. If you want to some serious shopping you can catch the bus to Puerto del Rosario, to Las Rotandas shopping centre, it takes about half an hour and costs about 2 euros, but has some good shops. Puerto del Rosario itself is not really worth exploring. It's a good idea to hire a car and go visit the island, do be careful of the crazy drivers. There are some lovely beaches further up the coast towards Jandia. A trip to the zoo is a must.
One tip; if you become a fidelity member ( just go on the Elba website) you will automatically be upgraded to one of their best rooms, and you can have late checkout for free, usually costs 50 euros. It's best to email them first to let them know you are coming and they will keep the best room for you. Overall a fantastic hotel, in a great spot and very good value for money, you can't go wrong. Enjoy!

Room Tip: the fifth of sixth floor is the best

I have to give an honest review of this hotel – I read a lot of what people had written in their reviews and I think that a lot of people have too high expectations for a Canary Island 4* hotel.

The Hotel in general is great – beach front, really clean, right next to a small shopping centre. We were All Inclusive and also took plenty of spends and we didn’t spend anything other than the 12euros to and from the airport (I would recommend this over transfers) and a few trinkets from the market.

The bad points are:
All Inclusive finishes at 11pm – this didn’t affect us as we were done by that time anyway.

The beach is man made and you have to walk a few hundred yards to get to the nice sandy part.

The Hotel is quite a way from the centre of Caleta De Fuste and you would need to walk for a while over the beach (approx 30 – 40 minutes) or get a taxi or bus and Claleta De Fuste kind of gives me the impression of a “one horse town” there isn’t a great deal to do or see there so I would recommend you go All Inclusive rather than pay high hotel prices or struggle to fine somewhere to eat each night.

The evening entertainment was somewhat lacking. There was a good kids club but nothing for the adults.

DON’T PLAY VOLLEYBALL – the cats from the “Cat Café” use the sand court as a litterbox

The GOOD points are:
Being away from the centre means the hotel is quiet and relaxing.

The Animation Team work hard and there is always a game going on. I can’t speak for the kids club but my other half was always playing some sport in the pool or on the courts.

The food is BRILLIANT – always a lot of choice. I’m not at all fussy but there was choice for every taste. The evening meals had 4 or 5 specials on as well as a varied selection of general hot dishes and loads of cold salads and meats as well as a great selection of desserts and fruit. The Tucan bar also had pastries on in the morning and served fast food type meals in the day and the Hotel Lobby bar had tea, sandwiches and cakes on from 5pm. The hotel also had a selection of ice cream that you could help yourself to.

The drink is also good – the selection on All Inclusive means drinks for all tastes. You could order a bottle of wine or cava with your meal and there was everything from Vodka to Sangria. You could help yourselves during your meals or in the day and they even had a slushy machine for the kids.

The hotel rooms were large and clean and although the sheets were changed every other day you could request they get changed more. Towels changed daily if you left them in the bath. We had a standard room and it was really big and comfortable.

Hotel staff are all friendly – I had my massage cancelled as the lady was sick so they offered me late check out as compensation.

The pools are clean & lovely – the larger, quieter pool is cool but refreshing.

GREAT GYM!!!!!!!!! My Other Half loved it!

Free Wifi - Brill for laptops and smart phones.

We had a lovely time and would go back again in a heart beat – a relaxing good hotel!

Living on the island ourselves, we always like to escape for the weekend to another part of the island. We choose the Elba Sara for this time and had a great time. Our children (age 7 & 3) enjoyed their weekend of fun in the pool ! My husband and myself enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere just laying by the pool. Although I knew the hotel was fairly full, the pool area was actually pleasantly filled and not too busy.
The food was nice but I have to say, we have been to other A.I hotels where the food was A LOT better and the hotels were less expensive.
The rooms are very spacious. We had a Twin room and all 4 of us fitted perfectly with still some space for the children to play. We also booked a Sea View room and unfortunately did not have that view as we were based on the ground floor. So perhaps something to keep in mind.
Our children were really happy playing in the pool so we never attended any of the kids club activities, perhaps best really as the entertainers were all french speaking and from what I saw didn´t speak a lot of other languages but french. Rather odd, as most people in the hotel at the time were English, Irish, Dutch, Spansih and German.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and had some lovely family time with the children. Unfortunately for what we paid, I am not sure we will be going back. Compared to other hotels on the island offering A.I, I just don´t think it is worth the extra money.

Great hotel lovely rooms and clean. Sunbeds always available and you can get your towels from reception which saves on your packing. We have stayed here twice and would go back again. The beach is on the doorstep which is a must and not busy. There is a commercial centre next door which has bowling for the children. The chinese is nice too. There are only a few hotels in this area and is pretty quiet but a 5 minute walk into town and there is enough pubs and restaurants.

An amazing holiday from start to finish. Going all inclusive is well worth it as our son (7) could help himself to food drinks ice creams cakes etc! A very quiet location but perfect for young children kids club was also included and came in really useful when it got too hot the children loved it too! Booking again for next year straight away! Never been to a cleaner hotel with fabulous staff and fantastic variety of food and drink available all day and night!

Very nice clean hotel. Food excellent and good variety. Pool area and grounds very nice and nice beach on doorstep. Rooms basic but comfortable. Only negative is kids club, wouldn't feel comfortable leaving a child there. No lock on gate, signing in/out. Recommend the oasis park zoo too. A good day out
