“Avoid Avoid Avoid”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE CORRECT! Makes out it’s 3 star but doesn’t deserve 1!
Suppose to have been refurbished in 2012, this has only consisted of painting the walls!

Don’t be tempted by low prices and misleading pictures, pay a bit more and read all reviews before booking – like we should have done!

The apartments are dark and dingy, even with the sun coming in, with insufficient lighting, badly equipped kitchen, useless pillows – had to go out and buy our own, old mattresses with springs coming through and covered in stains, mattress covers too. Towels old and washed out, bed counterpanes tatty. The curtains were stained and hanging off. Damp in the bedroom – clothes, even in suitcases, became damp and smelly. Bathroom fitments are old, rusty and dirty. Bathroom door wouldn’t even close, let alone lock. The chair in the living room was so old and ripped; you could put your hand through the hole in the foam seat.

The Hotel is also dangerous. A step collapsed on the stairs as we ascended. The front patio door would not unlock from the inside, took 15 minutes to open it, so we had to leave it unlocked at night or we may have been locked in. Even the window lock was insecure.
The tiles around the hotel walk ways were lethally slippy when damp; it was like an Ice Rink every day.

The Hotel is located in the middle of a derelict building site. Not many facilities around; a few bars and a small supermarket. There is a hotel, however, with a good pizza restaurant. The walk to Caleta is long, more like 40 minutes rather than 20. There is no beach, Costa Antiqua is built on top of the cliff. Yes, the pool is freezing, even in the Canaries pools need to be heated, disapointing.

The staff are friendly and welcoming on arrival but they are fighting a loosing battle. The place needs closing down and a proper refurbishment done – and loose the food....thereby hangs another diabolical tale.

We got a very cheap price and was only expecting 2 star. The room was basic but clean and towels were changed twice. The location was isolated but its a lovely walk into town and enjoyed the excersise. I would like to say to the hotel that the food does let them down as only two hot choices in evening and if you dont care for fish in green sauce or pork stew then your done, a cold option at lunch and evening would be nice and no options at all for children. Also on day of bbq leftovas were offered at evening too. Must say staff were great and really helpful and if food was improved would go again. Although some of other holiday makers moaning is a bit of a bore. Its 2 star and its clean and pleasent xxxx

Stay at your own risk!
We won’t be coming back to this complex again.

Service terrible! Never anybody on reception to deal with problems.

The first day we arrived we had to ask the reception man to get us a travel cot for our daughter. But he never brought it back. We had to chase it up with the bar man. When he dropped it off there was no bedding, again the bar man to go find the cleaning ladies to get bedding. When I set the Travel cot up it smelt so bad that my little girl wouldn’t sleep in it. It was either really bad dampness or piss! It didn’t feel clean at all. So my husband had to sleep on the floor with the mattress from the couch so that our daughter could have a bed.

When the cleaners clean the room all they do is clean the floor and make the beds, (don’t change the bedding). The bathroom was just as dirty, hair still left in the bath.
They took the towels to clean and dry in the same day, but ours never got returned! So again had to ask the bar man to get us some towels, we got 4 hand towels!! The cleaners don’t even have enough towels to change them over for the complex. To me that is unacceptable especially when my child was sick and we needed them.

There just doesn’t seem to be anybody around when you need them. The poor bar men end up running round doing everything. Management apparently doesn’t turn up till 7pm!

TV is poor! Not that mattered to us as we were never in. however you have to pay 5 Euros deposit for the remote, good luck trying to get it back! Never anybody on reception to get it.

Wifii the same works off and on each day.

I can rough it I love camping etc but when you have paid good money to stay in a nice studio apartment complex you cant help but feel you have been duped. We booked off Booking.com and in my option it falsely advertises this place!
There is a sauna and spa but you have to pay to use it! There is a pool, not heated.
The photos make it look better then what it does.
It’s more than a 20min walk away from all the shops and restaurants and definitely more to the beach!

We thankfully hired a car to enjoy the island, but if you haven’t hired one and end up staying here you might be disappointed especially if you have children as it’s a long walk from anything!

I have never looked forward so much to seeing my own bed! The beds and bedding here are terrible!! I don’t mind some ikea beds, but these are shocking! My back has never been so bad. A blow up bed is better than these beds!

I have heard from other people in the complex that the food is terrible! So if you do decide to stay here go self catering like we did. As the food does look shocking!

I am at this hotel now and agree with Gordy Hull comments, I don’t know him, but I agree with his comments.

The rooms are dirty, the cleaner seem to try hard but the place is worn down.
We have had our towels taken twice, the first time I had to ask for them back and they returned them at the end of the day about 7pm, the 2nd time they have taken them and they have been gone for 2 days, so no towels at all, when I ask about it, I had to chase for them and got given a couple of hand towels and basically got a shrug of the shoulders and was told to speak to the cleaner to see what they have done with them, so that will be 3 days without even towels!

I don’t where people (reference to other comments made) think they get a good service, there is never anyone around to speak to, the reception is never open, the rooms are the basics, but the place is more than happy to rent you a Microwave or kettle if you pay extra (I personally would have expected them to be in the room, but that’s just me).

The mini-market is never open and has nothing of any use, other than inflatables for the pool.

Mattresses are basic IKEA furniture, not built for heavy hotel usage, so bad night sleep should be expected,

Overall I wouldn’t use again, and anyone expecting a simple but clean easy to use place, should not consider this place.

I only did the self catering, but I feel sorry fro the all inclusive people as the drinks and food looks bad.

Finally the Internet is a joke, as I write this, it is only the 3rd time I have managed to get online at all. The internet is suppose to be free, (and it is) but that is for a rubbish one that you have to sit outside to even get on, they have a much better one that also works, but guess what you have to pay for it.

Avoid at all costs

I am at this hotel now and I have to honest, do not use this place, you dont have to take my word for it but I can only give my honest opinion, I have had no problem staying here as we booked last minute and it was the only thing we could get
the food is really bad fact, the rooms ate dirty and bedding is worn and not often cleaned,
Managers attitude is you get what you pay for,
They stopped us taking pictures of the food in the eating area, only the odd couple ate there even though they are all inclusive, If you dont mind these very poor standards then I suppose you'll feel at home, they even have dogs ataying here,
