“Good basic place to stay, highly recommend”

First of all I would say don't bother with transfers unless you book with Thomas Cook etc as the first time we went they don't seem to have a clue and its so easy to get a taxi just outside the airport and it was quicker and only about €10, hold on to your seats though as the taxi drivers can be a little erratic lol.

We got to the Hotel and check in was quick and easy, the paths to the rooms aren't very well lit so be careful as not being familiar with the lay out at first seemed a bit dangerous in the dark but someone came along and showed us the way to our room. The room was spacious and clean, no floors above so no one to disturb, bedroom was simple but nice, what more do u need, beds and wardrobes. We went for food and was a little surprised at the size of the dining room and we were worried that if it was going to be busy we would be queueing a lot for food and we were there in half term, we got our seats and I'm pleased to say that the food was lovely. Next day no queues for food and wasn't busy so think a lot of people must be self catering or half board and we were all inc.

The pools were nice but cold, but I don't think I've been anywhere in a long time that has warm pools so think that's just the norm.

Close to the beach and town. Nice beach but the one by the Sheraton is much nicer as when u walk into the sea there are no rocks.

Free wifi in the hut on the beach, we have drinks and lunch there and it's nice.

Came here for Christmas and new year with wife and kids, kids entertainment starts at 9:30! Why? When it's on!!! The food is ok! Nothing to shout about, dinning hall very small. The bungalows are very nice and clean. Some staff are fantastic (the rep and the guy behind the reception). Management needs to be sorted out!! Would I come back? NO, would I recommend? NO. Also bring loads of euros very expensive and they want a deposit for everything.

After reading the mixed reviews on this hotel, we decided to give it a go, and it was pleasantly surprised. The apartment was nice and clean and the staff were so helpful and lovely. We went the first week of December and the weather was a little cloudy, so we hired a car for 90 ish euros for 3 days and drove all over the island which was great. We were self catering and the supermarket and shops were a 2 minute walk away. We did have some tiny little black creatures on the kitchen work top which were hard to see, but we kept all open foods in the microwave for storage. The cleaners always cleaned the room to a good standard if you left your card on the door for them to do so. The pool was freezing but I suppose that's the time of year we chose. We would recommend this to people but if your looking for luxury or something special then this is not the place to choose,

We returned to Cay Beach Hotel last week for a second (all inclusive) visit this year. After reading some of the Trip Adviser reviews we were slightly concerned about some of the comments (forget them!).

Accommodation was excellent as before; the food was again excellent as before; all the staff were great (especially “Howard” on the front desk). For example, we had an issue with a wall socket which was sorted within 20 minutes! As last time, we got a taxi from the airport (approx 12 euro about the same as the cost of a transfer) which saved having to wait for anyone else to fill the bus or coach. The trip only takes about 10 minutes and means you can start your holiday a lot quicker!
For a nice coffee, try “Lins cafe” in the square and the Windmill for all day “Happy Hour” for a pint or two – “buy one get one”! We didn’t eat out as there was plenty choice and good quality food at the hotel every night.
I really wish that people would post honest reports about places – so many of the ones we read before going were totally unfounded! One example is that the pool was cleaned EVERY day.

Our third time at Cay Beach - can't comment on bad food reviews as we always stay SC. Other than that as a winter bolt hole at reasonable cost we think it's excellent. Can't understand bad reviews of reception they've always been excellent with us. Do have to agree the pool looked a bit murky otherwise it was very pleasant especially as they seem to have toned down the music a bit since our other visits.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the pool if you don't want the music all day.

This was our fourth trip to Cay beach Villas in the last four years. I was a little worried that things had changed seeing the earlier reviews .I shouldn’t have worried it had not changed. You get what you pay for. The food was edible and I enjoyed the barbeque and paella day’s .I also enjoyed the chicken curry and goat. The biggest best things about this place are the staff. Alex on bar cheery and chatty and poor Sam trying to get us lazy holidaymakers to join in activities.
The pool was crystal clear but freezing which cooled you down.
If you want somewhere to chill out and relax this is the place.
My only 2 problems I had was the bed was very hard but every night I took the coach seating into the bedroom and had a double height mattress. The second thing was the maids only cleaned and made the beds every other day.
Still all things considered I have come home and I am trying to re book Cay beach Caletta for the same time next year but for 10 days.

Room Tip: 435 is near everything

Enjoyed a nice weeks holiday in Cay Beach Villas. The room was cleaned six days out of the seven we lived there. The bungalow was nice and clean, the pool was clean, the staff was very nice. We didn't see ANY insects.

Less than 5min walk to bars and restaurants. Nice beaches are also near, I would recommend walking along the beachline (10minutes south) to the beach in front of Elba hotels, (next to a big shopping centre!).

We we're half board(?), meaning we only ate breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast had a lot of options, only the coffee and butter didn't taste right to us but it might depend on what you're used to. The bungalows get really chilly at night so on first nights I woke up to get another blanket.

For entertainment, I recommend going to Piero's on fridays for the amazingly funny dragshow.

Room Tip: I would recommend the room 201, you get a lot more privacy than many of the other rooms (because of...
