“Cool Cay Caleta!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

Just returned from a week's all inclusive at cay beach (28-5th sep 2013). I would recommend you take a taxi from the airport to the hotel as it's only 10mins away and costs around 12-13euros each way...other people we met who took transfers from their travel agents paid well over this and arrived 1hr30 later than us!! The apartments are clean and modern no ants in this one!( bathroom does only have a shower, so don't expect a bath!!) a nice little terrace for sitting in the evening and large beds....we were all inclusive so didn't really use kitchen, but everything you need was there. The food was ok, people moan about the food beIng 'samey' but what do you expect?!, they have to cater for a lot of people for a long period of time! If you get bored there are plenty of nice restaurants about 5mins walk from the complex. We dined at 15 which was lovely and had tapas at a local tapas bar....food was reasonably priced and tasty. It doesn't really matter about people putting there towels down on the sun loungers as there were plenty available even in the busy afternoon period...although the hotel looked liked there were trying there best to stop this from happening...can't seem to stop them Germans thou!, cleaning lady came everyday apart from 1 out of the 7 we were there and changed are towels everyday. As I was travelling with my partner and 13mths old we were restricted to evening entertainment, but the entertainment guy was lovely and went out of his way to try and provide events...very basic but quite funny at times...pissed people at karaoke is a must when in Spain! However the entertainment always stopped at a reasonable hr, great if you have kids to settle. This is not a place to go if your looking for a drinks, clubs and pulling! But if you want a relaxed, peaceful, beautiful walks and lots of pampering then this is perfect. Definitely going back next year x

Room Tip: Safety deposit is 12euro for the week, well worth it.

my holiday are steal going. excellent one bedroom house very spacious for self-catering well equipped. and naw bad things. you have to pay for tv where available tv channels are for free on satellite. room cleaners disappears for 3 days. my dirty towels hasn't been change just hangs outside for dry up. Internet at room for 6 euro a day hasn't work at all. internet in reception for 1 euro per 15 min. work perfect. I understand that it is cheap accommodation, but not 4 star. sun beds in swimming pool are squids like for sardines. water in pool hasn't been filtered for ages and looks like soup. Only fact that this object is nearly new and presentable, and price manage it as acceptable.

Just got back from our week stay at Cay Beach Villas (26th-1st), and would definitely recommend them if your looking for nice and cheap accommodation, we choose breakfast option only as we didn't stay in the resort all day everyday and it was a good choice. breakfast was always nice and fresh just bit boring, the same food is always there every morning but didn't bother as too much, reception staff was always nice so was the cleaning staff, the apartment it self was nice and clean we didn't pay extra for the air con as we kept the windows open and it was grand there are bars in them so no hope someone would get in at night, we got our towels changed only twice through the week which wasn't great because they get sandy and dirty, otherwise cleaning was good. the beds are hard as rocks but its only a week not a big deal, seen complaints that there is no kettle well no electric one but the old style kettle is in the shelf above the microwave again that wasn't a problem for us, we did buy the WiFi for 3days for 4.50e it worked fine, we also done the self service laundry for 3.50e which was handy and easy to do. Caleta is nice place but we hired a car and the beaches down in Jandia are definitely the nicest not the ones beside hotels but the ones you can only get to by car. If u choose to stay in caleta, visit the restaurant called Margarita is only a small restaurant but god the food in there is to die for. The pool is nice and big and there is lots of sunbeds so no need to 'reserve' one with towels but some people still done it :/ we had no ants in our apartment either. the only thing i could complain about was there is only one mirror in the hole apartment so is hard to get ready in the morning when ur partner wants to get ready too. overall i would score the villas 8/10 and would stay there again.

Room Tip: dont get a room beside the street, no privacy at all!

We booked all inclusive at the Cay Beach Caletta Apartments in Caleta de Fuste. I had initially booked La Tahoma Gardens but changed my booking as I had read a lot of bad reviews so having paid extra, I expected a better standard and in the main, it lived up to it.. I would give it a 7-10. my husband a 6-10. Firstly, I would not recommend booking with low cost holidays as transfer was included and was diabolical. We were only a 15 minute trip away from airport to the Cay Beach. Arrived at airport at 6pm and it took 2 hours by the time we checked in at Cay Beach. We had to queue for about 20 minutes at a desk at airport to be told where we should wait for our transfer vehicle. We waited with others who were also getting very fed up, many with young children for around 45 minutes before a rather clapped out double decker bus arrived with no aircon inside or seatbelts. The driver did get some hassle and we felt sorry for him so did give him a tip at the end as he is just doing his job but he put people on the bus in order of the apartments with no other person to help. This took ages and if we had got a taxi from the airport it would have cost 9 euros and taken 15 minutes. We paid 17 euros for transfers but hired a car for the last few days and hence no messing about with the ''transfer'' back. Other people had paid about 35 euros for this transfer so as you can tell my overall advice would be not to book transfers if you are going to the Cay Beach apartments or others that are within 30 minutes distance. The apartments were lovely little bungalows, clean and spacious with a separate bathroom and bedroom and terrace. Some people have complained there are only 2 chairs to sit on outside. If you are a family of four, you can always bring 2 plastic chairs from inside to the terrace. problem solved. I also heard some people had ants in the apartments. We found a couple in the bathroom but that was it.... The sheets were not great, i had a hole in mine and my husband's sheets had a stain on them. We had twin beds but what is funny is that the maids put one top cover over both beds to make it look like a double. they slide apart really easily but we just found it funny. We complained about the sheets and were given better ones. The beds are very firm but we like firm beds, you may not. What we didnt like was the airconditioning. It is only in the bedroom so you are hot in the lounge and the aircon gets extremely noisy at night time so in the end we switched it off when we went to bed. However, at least there is aircon if you want to pay for it and we also paid for a security deposit box and the remote. We expect to pay for these things anywhere if we want them.
OK..now the food and the staff. With regards to the food, rather bland and often lukewarm food which did not vary much although there is a selection and we could always find somethingto eat. The breakfast and lunches were slightly better than evening meal. Goat always on the menu, with variations of salad, rolls, pork and chicken and pasta (always in some weird sauce), beef if you were lucky but bit cold and overcooked. On the upside it is cheaper to do all inclusive as ice creams, local drinks, tea, coffee, all food and snacks included so we only ate out about three times. The food was amazing at NESTORS, highly recommend it there as sometimes the FADO Rock restaurant has big queues but we heard that was also good. With regards to the staff, in general they were approachable and the barstaff friendly. We did have an incident with the security guard lady after 11pm who was very rude and we complained about her. Went to use internet late at night, it wasnt turned off and we just wanted to check weather for next day. She pounced on us almost hysterically about it.. Another thing to be aware of is the Cay Beach Apartments has two websites. Before we went on holiday, I checked out their official website on google before I left and it said all inclusive guests could have a free a la carte meal. This used to be at Tonys restaurant and the Manager of the Cay Beach told me this was an old offer. I showed her the website which was marked 'official' under google as She showed me another one!! How can you have two official websites so just be careful of that. Forget the a la carte meal, you wont get it but it was advertised on the official website i looked at. The pool area was nice and its a shallow pool. Someone complained on trip advisor that the pool is only open from 10 to 5. It is officially open from those times with a lifeguard on duty who walks around a lot and didnt seem to look at the pool that much to be honest! . She finishes at 5pm but we always saw people in the pool up to 6.30pm and it didnt seem to be a problem.
If you want entertainment at the Cay Beach forget it!! ... if you have young children it is fine, there is an animation team who bring in lizards and other animals to show the children during the day and most nights they do a kids disco with them. For adults, its a no no ...unless you want to watch the most boring man strumming a guitar and singing to himself mostly on a monday night. He was dire. We could have forgiven his bad singing if he at least looked as it he wanted to entertain you. So we went to Pieros complex which had entertainment every night and would thoroughly recommend the Michael Buble tribute singer who is excellent. We also liked an entertainer called Crazy Legs Brian. Not the best singer but a great personality and gets the audience involved with him.
The Windmill bar is also good for a meal and drinks, and has a playground outside for children. its Happy Hour all day there too, if you can hack it! Overall, Caleta de Fuste is a lovely place to visit - enough shops and 2 lovely beaches and ideal for couples and families. If you want nightclubs you need to go elsewhere but there are enough bars for entertainment. I personally would not go back to Cay Beach apartments purely because there are too many people sandwiched side by side on sun loungers and I like a bit more space by the pool and the food could have been better. Apart from those few niggles, we really enjoyed ourselves there and even went to the Thassalo Spa which I would highly recommend. There are chipmonks in the rocks all over the Island and if you have the time, hire a car for a couple of days. It is worth it to see more of the Island. We had a lovely holiday.

Room Tip: We had a bungalow set back from the road which is ideal if you dont want noize from the bar area so...

We just got back from staying at Cay Beach 18-25 August, and will be booking again for sure. We have 2 children and they loved every minute. The sofabed breaks down into 2 beds for kids and we had bedroom with 2 singles pushed together. Air con in bedroom only, but the kids so worn out from the day they didnt need aircon in living room! Reception staff excellent and helpful. Lovely size pool and always beds and parasols free every day. We went all inclusive where drinks and snack bar open majority of the day, with plenty of variety, and good measures from the friendly bar staff! We ate out a couple of times as evening meals get a bit samey, but breakfast and lunch had good variety. Beach is about 7 minute walk away, with some quality bars and restaurants along the way. O'Connor's Irish bar great for a pint and lunchtime snack, and for quick service and great selection at good prices try La Bodeguita. Overall 4-5 :)

We stayed here for a week in August, the Holiday was cheap, so we expected cheap accommodation, We were pleasantly surprised as it was to be honest pretty good for the price. The rooms were roomy, air conditioning was extra at €3 a day.
The room itself was small but perfect for 2 adults and one child, the patio area was clean.
The pool area was full of sun beds a little close together, but as they were never all full i simply moved them to make space, no problem at all.
The beach and main shopping centre were literally 5 minutes walk away.
The tv is a added expense, but do you really want to watch tv on holiday?
The guy who ran the pool activities was brilliant, various games in the pool throughout the day
The staff were helpful on reception and told us everything we needed to know.
All in all it was a cheap and cheerful place to stay, but you get what you pay for. Would we go again? Yes we would, it is a tidy complex and very relaxing.

Room Tip: We stayed pretty much opposite the main entrance, this was very quiet and convenient, no road noise...

We stayed at these bungalows in June. They are basic but have most things you actually need! One thing that would help is having your own loungers for your patio - that would have been ideal for us. There are plenty lying about the pool. We didn't eat here as there are lots of places to eat only a 5 minute walk away.
