“Best Steak”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

I would probably rate this as the best steak I have ever had. I got the Kobe Wagyu done medium as per chef's advice and matched with a beautiful wine. It comes up quite expensive (over $500 for wine, sides and two of the top of the range steaks), but it's worth it if you only do it rarely.

“A quirky little bar and grill.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013 via mobile

Kasey did an amazing job waiting on our table. She was very efficient as she seemingly waited on several tables at the same time. She also took the time to decipher the menu for us, making great recommendations for our meal.
The canapés, although they looked a little weird were really delicious. The cuts of wagyu we ordered were cooked to perfection.
Moo moos is not your average bar and grill. The cuts of meat range from $38aus and above. Side dishes/ veges are extra.
Although we did enjoy the food at Moo Moos, it can become rather pricey. Is the food worth it??? I'm not too sure, but the service was worth it.

“Great Location in Broadbeach but Otherwise Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

We have eaten dinner at Moo Moo's on at least 4 occasions over the past 3 years. The location is excellent, right across the street from the Sofitel Hotel and close to the Gold Coast Highway.
The restaurant prides itself in having a very broad range of steak, both Waggu and aged Australia Beef.
I think Waggu meat, relying on the marble (fat) melting to ensure its tenderness is highly over-rated. Good quality, properly dry aged Aussie beef is far superior in both flavour and tenderness. Having said that, Moo Moo has recently specialised in chop style steaks (Porterhouse) for size and perceived value at the expense of the better cuts such as good fillet and sirloin. Very sad and a definite step backward for lovers of quality steak.
The dishes other than the extensive steak offerings are interesting, very flavoursome and creative but sadly we have seen an increasing interest trend by the owners toward the bar traffic and away for the food quality and dining atmosphere of what was a very good 4.5 to 5 star restaurant 3 - 4 years ago.
The atmosphere is dominated by changing light colours ( 3 - 4 times an hour) and loud (and I mean loud) electronic hip-hop music throughout dinner. This is hardly the atmosphere a serious dinner with wine and good food with special company would appreciate.
It is a shame, as the location, availability of alfresco dining in a great temperate climate are being sacrificed. Overall the general quality of the food and service is apparently being shanghaied to drag the appeal down to an age group that aren't the major consumers of fine dining.
I really hope to see a reversal of this very slippery slope by the time we visit this very special Gold Coast location in future.

“VERY OVER RATED AND HYPED”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

This restaurant is a w#nk. The ambience is kitsch with disco lighting making it impossible to read your menu and TV screens advertising their awards and facebook page, very tacky. The marketing of the beef is first rate but 60 dollars for what was supposed to be a marble score 6 to 9 Wagyu rump was a complete sham. There was no marbling and no wagyu taste to it at all and I do have considerable experience with beef and steaks. My friend had a more expensive flat iron wagyu MS score 9 and it was so ordinary it was a rip off. The prices are ridiculous and the sides pricing and quality average at best.
I found the waitress knowledgeable but completely disinterested in her job and helping us.
Don't fall for the hype, its the restaurant you go to when you don't know what your doing.
