“good value, but dont get the breakfast!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

We got our room via the internet, good value for what we paid for, however upon reception we decided to opp for the breakfast in the morning....what a mistake! As for the room and location, you can't fault it. Its walking distance to major shopping centres, casino and entertainment spots..The room was clean and cooking amenities where all in good clean order. There's not enough room for all guests to park in the underneath secure parking, so if you dont get there early or have a big car, don't bother..Mind you, when we parked below, next to the elevators was a old washing machine, old bedding and a pile of rubbish, which didn't smell or look very appealing.
Our main disappointment was the breakfast..Although only $10, its not worth it, and was by far the worst one we have ever had. The bacon was a spam/jerky substitute that was uneatable, no one we saw ate it, and left it on their plates.Eggs if you were lucky to get any were runny and tasteless. There was one poor chief doing all the cooking on a single small frying pan, every time you saw him he was running to try and replenish the empty hot plates, or you saw him rinsing out the frying pan to cook something else. ( there were around 30 people in the restaurant when we ate, and everything was constantly empty.) so in hindsight we paid $10 for a glass of juice, luke warm milk and cereal...Eating at the restaurant would have been nice if their weren't so many flies, and cigarette butts floating in the water that ran through the restaurant / reception area. So great location and price, ...just dont get the breakfast.

Room Tip: Get it on the internet to get a good price.

We stayed 2 nights in a Studio apartment and had a lovely time! The balcony was roomy enough for 2 and the kitchen facilities were perfect. Having a washing machine and dryer was also a bonus. Walking distance to the casino and Pacific Fair (huge) shopping centre, as well as to the beach. The heated pools and spas were also well used!

A friend of ours booked this accommodation for us via a deal from Wotif. For $100 per night during the school holidays it was good value. We had a renovated air conditioned 1 bedroom, self contained apartment with a balcony on the 12th floor overlooking the coast and surrounding apartment buildings and Peppers but not closed in by them. There was a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar and milk and the usual bathroom supplies of shampoo, conditioner etc, ironing facilities and hairdryer. The toilet and a shower over a spa bath are both in the bathroom and no one services the rooms over a 4 day weekend. The tiles could have done with a good bleaching to get rid of a small amount of mould. A flatscreen tv sits on top of the refrigerator and has Austar. A washing machine and dryer is conveniently located outside the apartment within a cupboard. The room our friends were booked into had not yet been renovated and was average, but clean and tidy.

Whilst these apartments are set back a couple of blocks from the beach, its within very easy walking distance of not only the beach but Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, the Oasis Shopping Centre, the Four Winds Revolving Restaurant, Draculas and the Casino. Its close to the local police station and quiet enough to block out most street noise if the balcony door is shut. A 3 minute drive will take you to the city centre of Surfers Paradise.

A full continental breakfast is available for $10 per person staying at the resort and $15 per person for visitors not booked in. There's a bbq area, swimming pool, spa and lounges and vending machine for use by guests.

The staff are friendly and there is limited underground parking available at no extra charge but you've got to be quick, otherwise its street parking.

Room Tip: Not all rooms had been renovated in April 2012. The higher up, the less street noise.

Great location. Great value for $79.00 per night. Would not recommend this if paying any more than this. Needs $$$ spent on overall maintenance.

Room Tip: My husband and I booked through Wotif and paid $69.00 per night for a studio/spa room, which was fan...

Daughter & I checked in for 2 nights early April - had purchased the $79/night deal thru Wotif. First impressions were good - friendly receptionist & bright/airy lobby. Given keys to a 12th floor studio. This was advertised as an Ocean View apartment, which to me means an Ocean View from the room - not from the leaning over the balcony & twisting your head right, anyway it was sufficient for the price. Room small but comfy king size bed. Good facilities - oven, microwave, fridge, stove top. The bathroom tho was a massive let down - completely mouldy, possibly bordering on unsafe. The spa set up was a shower over the bath, not hygienic, so we certainly didn't use it. The location was great tho - short stroll to the hub of Broadbeach & to the beach. Didn't eat at the restaurant for breakfast, but it appeared over priced. Many really good restaurants in Broadbeach offer b/fast for between $10-15. Pool area was spacious & had plenty of lounges. Would consider staying here again but wouldn't pay more than $79/night.

Got a special on Wotif for this so called resort. Paid in advance so had to put up with it. The studio spa rooms are quite small, but equiped with a small kitchen with full oven,microwave,2 burner stove top,and small fridge/freezer. No room for a dining table so a strange breakfast bar is set up with 2 bar stools. The bedroom is small with a king zip bed which dominates the room, and was old & very uncomfortable, had been fitted with a foam egg grate mattress topper to try to hide the joining zip,but we still fell into the middle of the soft very well used bed. The bathroom has a very low ceiling, and the air extractor vent did not appear to work.
The toilet holder fell off the wall on the first morning. The shower over the bath is very suitable for an agile midget. The single spa bath is very narrow, and makes showering for anyone over 5 feet 9 inches a real challenge. The tiles had mould in a lot of the grouting,as well as did the ceiling, the grouting round the bath surround made you feel sick, it was so abundant, and so black. Even on a Wotif special I would not stay here again.

I have just flown back home and logged on to write this, my first review on tripadvisor, because I think people need to know what this place is really like. And it's not good.

I don't know where some of the pictures on their website came from - I suspect from photos taken some years ago, because the dining area does not look half as flash now as on their website.

I booked my stay via a mystery deal on wotif. I paid AUS$135 a night for five nights for 2 apartments for me and my partner and his son and daughter in law. What a disappointment, this has totally dented my faith in wotif!

Bathroom grubby, toilet needed a good clean.
Mould on grout in bathroom,
Fittings (hairdryer, clothes dryer) removed but the zinc holders on the wall left behind.
Louvre door to shared washing machine broken.

The whole place was just run down. OUr deal included a free breakfast, but one of us was challenged about this 3 days into the stay. Breakfast was strange, some times the bacon was hot, sometimes it was the eggs - I don't think there was one day when everything worked, The coffee for breakfast was a hot water urn, with a basket of grubby cheap coffee sachets - the same pieces of fruit were brought out every day, getting older and older.

I was unhappy when we checked in, but I had paid upfront, so we were stuck there..
But the worse bit was the penultimate afternoon of the stay - my partner went out, I stayed back to read a book and have a few zzs. I heard a knock at the door and got up thinking partner has left keys behind, to be confronted by a total stranger at door, who claims to be housekeeping. This is a non-serviced apartment, it's 4.25 in the afternoon...

The next nmorning I decided to report this to the Savannah staff and the women behind the counter were lovely - the manager or owner however did not want to know. I offered to look at their security cameras to see if I could see the chap who had come to the door, but the manager/owner did not want to know. I lodged my own police report.

So - the Savannah? Some lovely staff there, and if you can get a cheap deal to stay there, it might not be too bad, but I feel totally ripped off AND mortified, because I was the person who did the booking for our group.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere!
