“Great location, great rooms and great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

Stayed here on the 26th floor in an apartment that looked out over the ocean - the views were incredible to say the least. Great for families and just a two minute walk to the beach and shops so you have everything you need right on your doorstep. Tennis courts and swimming pools were both in good condition as well. Liked it so much we're staying there again on holidays in October.

Stayed here for a conference and chose this hotel as I booked late and everything else had been booked out. I was allocated a room on a floor that was being refurbished. The corridor had been stripped of carpet and wallpaper and was being painted - had to walk around the painters and wet paint. Fortunately I was out during the day so their work noise wasn't an issue.

Unfortunately reception gave me an old-style key while the room had an upgraded lock that needed a card. Fortunately the painters were able to tell me that I had to go back to reception to get a card - this happened to everyone on this floor. Being a new system it took a while for reception to prepare my card. However I found service at reception was often slow.

The apartment I stayed in was very old and dated but a good size and adequately equipped.
The kitchen had many cockroaches in it, would often see them in the evening. Maybe this was due to garbage disposal unit not working.

Entry to the car park requires driving on the wrong side of the driveway in order to open the door. I saw a few drivers get confused. The proximity to the beach and ventilation means that despite parking underground, your car will still get coated by salt spray. Bring a car cover if this is a concern.

The hotel is close to the beach; so better suited for holidays than for conference attendees.

Hopefully the refurbished rooms are better, however I do not have good memories as I ended up breaking my foot during my stay (nothing to do with the hotel).

Room Tip: Try to get a refurbished room.

Beach Haven Resort is a nice hotel with friendly staff and great rooms. They have 3 pools (1 indoor 2 outdoor),a games room, tennis courts, car parking, and air conditioned rooms.I stayed with my family in a lovely room (13B).There is everything you need all around the corner (restaurants, cafes, shopping centres and bars). It is so close to the beach less than a kilometre away.I would recommend Beach Haven Resort if you are staying on the Gold Coast .

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

We stayed at Beach Haven for the first time in June 2012 after reading numerous positive reviews here in Trip Advisor - we stayed for 5 nights in a 2 bedroom ocean view refurbished apartment (19B) and really liked it for the following reasons;

- modern, clean and comfortable apartment,

- a wrap around balcony with east facing (sea) and north facing (towards Surfers Paradise) views,

- right at the beach end of Albert Avenue but not right at the beach edge due to a lawned/parkland area between Beach Haven and the beach (no impact on views to the sea),

- very close (2 to 5 minutes) walk to the Niecon Plaza food court where we ate a few times, all the great restaurants and coffee shops in that area and the Woolworths supermarket and other shops in the Broadbeach Mall,

- 5 minutes walk up Albert Ave through a small arcade to the Gold Coast Highway where you can catch the local Surfside buses that travel up and down the highway to many locations,

- a little bit further to the huge Pacific Fair shopping centre (at least a 20 minute walk).

We found out that Beach Haven has what they call "A" and "B" class apartments (unsure if there are other classes as we were only interested in A or B) - the A class apartments are at the very front of the building with ocean views plus views sideways north and south up/down the coast - the B class apartments are set back only just slightly from the A class apartments on the north side of the building and they have a wrap around balcony with views straight out over the lawn/parkland area to the ocean and also to the north towards Surfers Paradise with all the tall skyscrapers (great views).

The only negative (and it is a minor one as we are 3 males) is that they only supplied one towel each and no face washers, hand towels, bath mats or suchlike as we have found is automatically included at some other places we stay at. However, the positive aspect of this is that they do give you a fresh new towel each every day (if you want it) so this was a good thing - although, we'd rather have a fresh new bath towel every few days and for them to supply some face washers, bath mats/towels and smaller hand towels.

We found the counter staff at Beach Haven to be friendly and helpful and have no complaints.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Beach Haven and will stay there again.

Room Tip: Make sure you specify what views you want and also above level 15 is best to maximise views
