After 16 of us had a lovely walk through the Chatsworth estate, we walked into the Devonshire arms baslow ready for a few drinks and a meal. Upon being greeted (the pub was nearly empty) we were asked to sit at one end if the room as we had a dog. A man who worked there could not have been more unhelpful if he tried. He obviously did not want children in the pub which was disgusting given that they clearly needed the custom.
Anyway, we decided we would go to the child friendly pub opposite which has excellent customer service and laid back atmosphere. As a resident of baslow I will make sure our friends know of this experience.
