This is a truly awful restaurant, with food that resembles a 1990s primary school dinner. Somehow this place maintains a relatively loyal, if ageing, clientèle despite producing possibly the worst food I have ever consumed in a restaurant. Baslow is perhaps the Peak District's capital of great cuisine, with the likes of Fischers of Baslow Hall and Rowleys providing excellent food at relatively affordable prices, yet somehow this establishment survives. Nearby Bakewell also offers a number of good options with the likes of Piedaniel's, Felicini and The Rutland Arms.
Anybody who has ever eaten in Italy, or indeed even visited a reasonably competent Italian restaurant in the UK would be appalled by this place. You would do far better with a frozen pizza from the supermarket or even a ready made pasta sauce with some dried spaghetti! It's THAT bad. Save yourself the money and time by going elsewhere. I hope this place can be turned around one day because it's a great location and Baslow deserves a good Italian restaurant.
