“Would never go back!”

We had the worst service you could possibly imagine, the lady taking our order was extremely rude and had a bad attitude! Food selection was average and so was the food.

Better service would go a long way!!

“Good price, good helpings and well cooked”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

Ordered our food at the bar from a very pleasant young man. The order number is on the receipt so you just wait for your number to light up. You then collect it from the server. The food was basic, but tasty. You get what you pay for and considering where this place is situated, and transport issues I was impressed.

“Good nosh, price reasonable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014 via mobile

This place has all the basics very well covered, so refreshing after a longish day taking the sights. As this is a backpackers you do have to do a minimum yourself, mostly carrying food to your table, and the plates back. While the menu is limited, the food is exactly what you would expect, well cooked and flavoursome. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the service is equally efficient. Diss it if you dare, but it will say more about you than the restaurant.

“Yuk”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Four of us ate here, steak overcooked, Thai curry unbelievably salty, undercooked pizza and very average fish and chips non of which were overly cheap. After that you are expected to clear your own table!!! $88 for the four of us not including drinks, was going to order a second round of drinks but the barman did a vanishing act and no staff around to complain to if I thought it would have made a difference. Just glad we found the Mountaineer the next day which was awesome. This place must be owned by the same group as the Heritage hotel as the receptionist didn't mention the Mountaineer when saying the hotel restaurant was fully booked and sent us down the road to this joke of a place

“Needed good food after a long day driving”

Very disappointed to pay fair prices for poor food in a meeting hall surrounding. Long wait for lukewarm food. Perhaps the lack of competition makes you lazy.
