Lovely relaxed restaurant with an interesting wine list and some of the best service we had in New Zealand. We would return and certainly recommned. The fresh oysters were perfect and the lamb rack perfect.

“Friendly staff, Great food, perfect skiing.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We stayed at Brinkley due to its ideal location for skiing at Mt Hutt, with a handy bus that picks you up right outside reception. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable with lots of cooking utensils. They also have a washer and dryer which was fab for keeping on top of ski clothes.
The food from the restaurant on site was amazing, and available for room service as well.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine offered. Great value for money and the best food i have eaten in New Zealand.

Restaurant was recommended by locals but we found it empty & overpriced.

“Superb food, friendly service, warm toilets!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

I came to this restaurant about a year ago and was impressed with the food, but nearly froze to death when I went to the toilet. I mentioned this in my review at the time and the owners must have read my review, because they have put a heater in the toilet since then and it was as warm as the restaurant.
The food tonight was absolutely top class, one of the best meals my partner and I have had this year (and we eat out a lot). The bread and dips was a great starter, 3 types of fresh toasted breads with 4 different dips. My partner’s main was the seafood special (filet of salmon, scampi, prawns and scallops with a selection of vegetables) and mine was the twice cooked Wakanui Beef in a delicious jus, with a selection of vegetables. The mains weren’t cheap ($40), but they were worth every cent. Just delicious!
Paul, the hotel and restaurant manager, was really friendly and the food was delivered at exactly the right times. The wine list was comprehensive, with plenty of glass only options.
If you’re in Methven eat here, you won’t regret it.

“home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

This is the second time I have stayed at Brinkley Village this winter and it has already become "home from home" for us all.
This is an excellent run resort and I reccomended it highly. The two bedroom units are very well appointed and there is nothing missing to make you think "if only". We have a view of Mt Hutt ski field so we dont need to look at the internet for their review as we can see it for ourselves.
The hot tubs are lovely and relaxing after a day skiing. They are a safe area for the children to unwind while you can sit at the bar and watch them. They have a full ski tuning workshop which is an added bonus. There is a tennis court and a 3 min walk to the world famous blue pub. This resort is highly recommended. 5 stars!!!
