We spent one night at Richlyn Park B&B at the end of our three week tour of the South Island.
This is the beautiful home of Rick and Evalyn, an oasis they built themselves to exacting standards. It's obviously a labor of love; it oozes quality and superb workmanship.
As light sleepers, we initially had concerns about the B&B's location on the main road into town, but Geraldine is pretty sleepy, so it was a non-issue.
They offer two queen bedrooms to guests, both located in a separate wing of their lovely home, offering complete privacy. There's a coffee/tea making station in the hallway nearby.
Our room was perfect; spacious with a large closet/changing area, massive bathroom with heated floors, accessible shower, good water pressure, posh thick bath towels and excellent lighting. Everything was immaculate and fresh, comfortable and warm.
Upon our arrival, we were invited to share a drink with Rick and immediately made to feel at home. After dining in town, we were welcomed into their warmly decorated lounge where we were offered tea and had a nice chat. With morning came more good conversation and a nice cooked breakfast. Rick and Evalyn are lovely people and caring hosts. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
