“Good, big plates of food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013 via mobile

Good food and lots of it. Beware of the early closing time. One female member of staff was nice and friendly but the man was a bit of a grump which isn't the best in such a small place - almost created a tense atmosphere. A nice place though and I'd recommend the fish and chips.

Excellent Wine and pint and chips. Lovely open fire. An excellent place to drop into as your passing through.

“Disaster”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Absolute disaster in terms of the food quality. I think it is run by a pair of husband - wife and they had a terrible fight on the day we were there. The lady was grumpy and wasn't even ready to respond to questions on menu dishes and contents. The front display says "All day breakfast". When asked for a breakfast menu, the lady said in ridiculing tone - "there is no menu for breakfast". When pointed to the front display she said oh yes we do have a breakfast item! Horrible. Worst part of the otherwise magnificent trip to Arthur's pass.
