We got stranded in Queenstown recently with much snow causing cancellation of flights. Thus we had to drive up to Picton, opting to stay the night north of Christchurch, in Amberley. Found the Purple Patch Lavender Farm on internet and called. Website easy to use and warm and friendly, as were the owners Ann and Ken. We felt most welcome. Were happily advised by Ann of good places to go and find dinner. Pleasant conversation, lovely, quiet, comfy sleep and awesome warm breakfast in the morning. Great rate at $110 for the double bedroom for the night. Was a very pleasant detour on our drive north and would definately stay again.
