We have recently just come back from a week stay in Croatia.
When we arrived at the hotel about 12:30 we were advised check in wasnt untill 14:00 however they could look after our bags for us in the meantime, and we were advised of the bar, terrace, pool and so forth in the hotel. So we left our bags and went to explore the local area.
The hotel main area are very well presented of a good standard and clean, we particularly spent most evenings on the terrace listening to the live music from the piano bar.
We booked a seaview with balcony room, We were put in the Asterea 2 which is a separate block away from the main hotel, only few minutes walk up slight incline from main hotel, our room would have been a sea view if it wasnt for the tree infront of our balcony (which was little disappointing, however to be honest we hardly spent any time if our room).
The rooms are little compact, however as you walk in your room you have shelving and wardrobes on right hand side with full lenght mirror, to left is bathroom which apears to be newly refited (bathroom has new modern look to it).
You continue forward to the bed with bedside tables on left side of room along with dressing table and mirror above. On the right hand side if the room is drawers and flat screen tv ontop of drawers, leading down to 2 seater sofa and then onto balcony with plastic table and chairs.
The rooms are little dated however are neutral and clean. You can see the hotel is in process of updating the rooms with new bathrooms and changing the barrier to glass on balcony.
The hotel serves:
breakfast 7am - 10am buffet style, ( bacon, spicy sausage, fried eggs, scramble eggs, boiled eggs, toast, bread, ceral, fruit, tea coffee juice) however dont expect pancakes or variety to change, breakfast is same everyday.
Lunch 12:00 - 14:00 didnt go down for this so cant comment.
Evening meal: 19:00 -21:00
Buffet style plently of fish & red meat options, salad, various puddings.
We only eaten a few times however basically its the same overnight.
They did have shark on the menu the one night we decided to eat.
The hotel is situated of the main road which leads to airport and Dubrovnik.
Your about 7km from airport and about 12km from Dubrovnik old city.
The hotel is just of the main road down a steep hill and just of the beach, theres plenty of parking.
We found Croatia to be very relaxing and locals to be friendly and helpful.
Whilst theres lots to do and explore we certainly had a nice relaxing time.
We decided to hire a car to get to visit all the places we wanted to.
There are regular buses with buss stop on the main road near the hotel however you do have to walk up a steep hill to get to the bus stop of not practical for less mobile.
Cavtat is a short 5 minute drive from the hotel and has plenty of restaurants upon the sea front.
Dubrovnik old city is defiantly a must (even the less Mobile can get round most area on the flat). There's 17 churches and lots of restaurants, shops and lots to explore plently of picturess buildings and views.
If you decide to go to Croatia then about an hour drive away from the hotel is Kotor, Montenegro which is well worth a visit (don't forgot to take your passport for border control)
Also if your thinking crossing border then maybe worth also going to Mostar, Bosnia. Both offer lovely views and plenty to see, however id strongly recommended going to Kotor, Montenegro.
The bar apears to have live singer on most nights, bar staff very assertive friendly, and will even bring your drinks to your table especially if the bar is easy, they also offer various cocktails alcoholic and non alcoholic from about 35 kunas upwards.
In the day you can get coffee and cake for 19 kunas.
We would certainly return and enjoyed our holiday.
