We were recommneded by friends who said this was excellent, not sure what they had, but we did not think so. Called in here on way back home from a few days away. Were only ones in there at first as was early evening. Owner took our order, he seemed more bothered about what was on his phone. A lot of waiting staff hanging about, looking bored, only another couple of tables were taken by the time we left. Had poppadums whilst waiting to decide what we wanted, they were nice and selection of chutneys/pickles were Ok, as expected. Had lamb tikka to start which I must say was nice, but no more than that. Then had chicken as main course which was hard, chewy and tasteless. I do not like hot curries, this was a medium one, but really I cook better at home. Should have sent it back, but was just hungry and wanted to get home. Rice was very sticky as well. Husband had lamb rogan josh and he said his was alright. Naan breads were very nice though. Decor really needs updating big time, looks like an ex-pub inside with all oak beams and horse brasses, not what you expect in an indian restaurant. Would I go again or recommend? probably not. Need to tell my friends their standards or taste buds need raising.
