Just arrived home from oakwood lodges and I wish we had booked to stay longer! Me, my partner and our two dogs had a lovely time. We stayed in oakwood lodge no.8 overlooking the pond. it was clean and tidy on arrival. Very cosy lodge. The hottub could of been warmer but we still enjoyed it. There's a costcutter in north duffield a 5 min drive away and skipwith common nature reserve is also a 5 min drive away which is great for walking miles with the dogs. Didn't see the owners all week and the wifi didn't work but we didn't mind we had no problems.

We stayed at the lodges last week and had a brilliant time. The style was very modern and contemporary with an amazing feature bed, freestanding bath and hot tub. The lodges are very private and in a peaceful location with Selby and York only a short drive away.

There were a few small issues we had, for a self catering lodge it didn't offer the basis equipment such as oven gloves, salt & pepper, baking tray etc, there were no steam room instructions, very little local information provided in their info pack and the wifi didn't work!

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back.

We have just arrived home from oakwood lodges. We stayed in no7. The postcode doesn't take you to the gate but if you follow the directions for the last half mile you will be ok. The road to the lodge is a little lumpy at first but ok if you don't take it as a rally stage. The lady who greeted us on arrival was very pleasant and helpful. First impressions of the lodge were good. Modern and spacious. On the minus side, the crockery and cutlery could do with a restock as it all looks a little well used. No dish cloth but we used one of the tea towels. Had to keep swapping battery's from the TV remote to the DVD remote as only one set available. In the bathroom the wall at the shower end of the bath is in need of repair as water runs down it from the ill fitting shower screen. All a bit nit picky really . On the plus side, the Hot Tub was great. Easy to use and the water was hot and clean. Towels were clean. You may wish to take some of your own if you use the Tub a lot. The weather was very cold at night but the lodge was more than cosy inside. All in all we had a brilliant weekend. We feel very chilled and relaxed and despite the few small issues we will be visiting Oakwood again.

Just got back from staying at Oakwood Lodges & I'm gutted to be home!
Me & my boyfriend stayed in one of the Acorn lodges, number 6. I was a bit apprehensive after reading a few bad reviews, but I dunno what I was worried about because it was lovely. The style & layout of the bedroom was fab & the big bath in it was a bonus.
The best bit of this lodge though was the hot tub, it was really clean & private enough to not really been seen.
We took our own sponge & washing up liquid, as reading previous reviews said they weren't provided, but there was some dishwasher tablets & bin bags left for us.
I would deffo recommend the acorn lodge & I'm already pricing it up to go again! :)

Me and my wife and the little 1 stayed here March 2014 and have a lovely week of weather which was fantastic. First arriving at the park the Sat nav takes you to another location a few mins away but asking directions we found it. On arrival met the site manager who was nice and welcoming who told us the lodge number and said the key was in the door. We went in to the lodge and on first impressions it was lovely. After a few hours of been there found a few very minor things which did not affect our holiday but could do with sorting out for others. A few of the lights in the lodge did not work about 4 of them. The kitchen only had 2 mugs. 3 champagne glasses. 2 steak knives (supposed to be a lodge for four) and no sharp knives for chopping etc. The dishwasher was missing the top drawer so only able to half loads and not wanting to wash up to much due to water been a tank and not a boiler system and ran out the first morning due to washing up having 1 shower and a baby bath.
In the lounge the clock did not work just change the battery would sort it. The bathroom bath seal could do with re-sealing. The twin bedroom we never used but seemed fine. The double bedroom we used was fine but the bed a standard double and was the type with a metal head board and a metal foot board so if you are like me 5ft11 or more a slight squash. Also we felt the cleaning could have been better as dust did come from under the bed etc and was not cleaned to well under them. There was an iron but no ironing board? Other than them minor things we can't say anything bad, we had a great break away and as usual hot tubs are amazing. We are not fussy people and we just got on with it and had a great time and would recommend this place if cheaper than others in the area we have previously stayed at and prefer but are not autograph. Only been honest.
As for the people moaning about the driveway, yes the first part is hardcore stones but go slow enough there's no issues and the second part is tarmac.

Have had a lovely break.....thanks

I recently stayed at oak lodge (num 12) with my boyfriend for four nights and have to say we very much enjoyed the entire experience. We have visited lodges previous to this but this one really stood out, the lodge was very well designed very modern plenty of space in both bedrooms and living room. the deck area with the hot tub was also very nice, looking out over one of the three lakes. Absolutely brilliant lodge. We read a few reviews before we went and saw a lot of people complaining about the dirt track into the lodges but most of it has been concreted it really is nothing to complain about. There is however a few things that we required in the lodge that wasn't there such as a mop and when getting out of the hot tub and through the lodge to the bathroom the floor would obviously get wet and with no mop we had to use one of the towels that were provided and to really nit-pick our tin opener didn't work so might be worth just packing one. All in all it was an excellent week away highly recommend this place its a cut above the rest.
