Decided to try this Hotel/Restaurant for lunch before going for evening meal. (I have found this is always a wise precaution) Out of season so not many people in which meant we got a window seat. Lovely views over Portballintrae. Ordered a smoked salmon salad with "hand-cut" chips as a side. Everything was very tasty but wasn't impressed by the vinegar which was not malt, but white (acetic acid). Nor by the prepacked butter and Flora portions - very tacky. Also didn't find atmosphere congenial with at least one member of staff being rather po-faced. Have decided not to risk it for dinner as it is also quite expensive.
