“Great place to buy gifts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

This was the perfect little shop to buy gourmet gifts. They had a nice selection of all different types of regional food products. The gentleman that helped us was very helpful and friendly.

“"We've weighed part of your sandwich"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

This was the reason given why my sandwich was nearly £2 dearer than the previous visit
.And I was supersized on the olives... ("Would you like 2 of each type?")I'm laughing as I write this.

Honestly-that experience aside-Spey Larder is seriously expensive and has pretentions beyond what it delivers. It's like the shopkeeper has looked at the priciest deli in Edinburgh and thought "You know with a virtual monopoly on these goods I could charge even more."
German tourists used to quality deli food must think Scotland is the dearest place in Europe. Greed is not a good advert for Speyside or Scotland.

I like some of the produce they sell, but you'd be cheaper having a holiday in Glasgow or Edinburgh and shopping there instead.

But hey what does The Spey Larder care what I or you think? It's doing fine.

If you do buy a sandwich-just make sure you're a real weightwatcher.

“Amazing deli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

This deli is a treasure trove of local and international produce. Huge range of interesting ingredients, jams, chutnies, whiskies, cheese, etc. Freshly made sandwiches, local pies, hot soup, lovely ice cream including a delicious whisky and oatmeal ice cream. Tea and coffee to take away. A really good place to stock up for a picnic if you are passing through, worth a visit to marvel at the beautiful interior and range of produce.
