“A great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Can't wait to go back! Excellent experience, the hotel was very nice, had access to 3 different hotels from the chain, the room was very comfortable, with kitchenette, large balcony, nice living room area. Would definitely select this hotel again and I recommend it to everyone.

This is a complex of a number of buildings and bungalows spread over a considerably large area. Three swimming pools, access to the sea. Various accommodation from rooms only to apartments with kitchen. Quite nice, clean a little bit worn out. There are 2 receptions and only one works 24 hours.

Room Tip: As for a room with a sea view which is breathtaking.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2012

We stayed at the Karibea Residence for six nights. We didn’t hire a car for the stay and although the taxi from the airport was expensive, we were able to manage pretty well for our stay. The hotel is located close to a couple of good beaches though there are no bars or services on them. It’s about a 20 minute walk to one of the other busier and better serviced beaches. Staying at this hotel you can have access to the other two in the group – but we thought the Residence had the best swimming pool (which we often had to ourselves). The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained.

The rooms are fairly specious and pretty well equipped with the kitchenette on the balcony as usual. The balcony is large but there are no loungers. TV is only French cable and sport. Bedroom was large, bathroom good and well lit and there was a large lounge. Air conditioning in the bedroom, fan in the living room. We were in one of the blocks fairly close to the main road so it was too noisy at night to have the windows open – we relied on the air conditioning which was pretty noisy. We didn’t notice the road noise during the daytime. Although you are in quite close proximity to others at the hotel, noise from other apartments doesn’t travel too much.

We walked into Sainte Luce and took the taxi collective back. A couple of supermarkets in St Luce were small but they had everything you needed and you can buy fresh fish along the sea front. We did a lot of walking during our stay but that felt good as we met people and experienced lots of different beaches. We didn’t think the local pizzeria or hotel restaurants looked very enticing so we mainly self-catered and had a couple of meals in the small restaurant nearby.

Most of the staff don’t speak English at this hotel but they were patient with us and the phrase book. Free wi-fi was available from the hotel across the road (sometimes painfully slow) and staff didn’t seem to want to engage much information about what the local attractions were.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as far away from the main road as possible
