After booking our holiday to Villa Paradiso I was concerned having read some of the reviews - I am not easily pleased but there is very little if anything to moan about with this hotel.,
On arrival we were quickly shown to our room by the reception staff- the room had a double bed, two bucket type chairs, dressing table, two draw cupboard, and a curtained off wardrobe with safe. The bathroom had shower bidet sink hairdryer- all were clean and tidy We unpacked and explored- there is a path around the hotel site which we walked in about 5 minutes going past the toddlers pool ,the larger pool, sun bed area, toddlers swings and slide area, astroturf area for football/tennis and onto the sitting area outside Reception. The path is lined with Rosemary, Bay and lavender bushes. All access is wheel chair friendly. The sitting area outside Reception and alongside the two pools was well equipped with good quality tables and chairs (not plastic!) all with tablecloths and seat cushions.so we sat and watched the families enjoying themselves - it amazing how different countries parents interact with their kids far more than most of us Brits and it was a pleasure to watch them playing games, cards and generally talking to one another.

Food - we were pleasantly surprised when we went into Lunch - the MaitreD met us at the door and showed us our table for the duration of the holiday, he then explained that everything was buffet service, with a large salad area which had just about every sort of salad, cold meat, cheese and pickle, and the hot plate was normally two types of pasta and a meat or fish choice with two or more vegetables. Sweets varied and we occasionaly had some which were ice cream , or a vast selection of fruit or cake. It is fair to say the meals were rustic Italian and well cooked There were drinks on tap, beer, red and white wine, water and soft drinks all these were in proper glasses - The plastic mentioned by one reviewer was only in the pool area which to us seemed very sensible although one rather stupid person did "stamp his feet" until he was allowed to use a glass as he said that plastic spoilt the taste of his beer (his glass was quickly cleared away when he left). The drinks were of a reasonable quality. These drinks were available from 10 in the morning until 10 at night, other drinks like lemoncello, grappa we also free but served by the bar staff. With the Brits in the minority it was interesting that all the time we were there we never saw anyone drunk , and we spent many happy evenings people watching. There was also music most nights, a young lady with a good voice and a matching personality sang to backing tapes. There was also a kiddies club during the day and most nights which kept the youngsters occupied
We did venture out - its about a 10 minute walk to Lake Tressimino and the town which has a lovely square and bars
We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 days and would happily returnMore
