Splendid location in a tranquil setting yet within easy driving distance of the highlights of Tuscany and Umbria. Beautifully redecorated 18th century farm with stylish rooms. However, the real reason you can't afford to miss Slow Life Umbria is the hospitality of the hosts: wonderful people and exceptional cooking!

We had a more than excellent stay and enjoyed every minute of SLOWLIFE and its owners Bruno and Carol . From the many trips done in the past this one hits beyond any doubt the TOP 3 through the beauty of the region but also the exceptional hospitality and the "always ready to help" attitude from the owners and their kids - Perfect customer intimacy and exactly what you may expect when recovering from hectic stressy lifes .
SLOWLIFE in itself is a "jewel" with the years of energy and love put into it shining daily over the domain.
SLOWLIFE is also very well positioned if one wants to combine relaxing with visiting some pittoresk villages in the neighbourhood (Perugia , Todi , Folignio , Assisi , Cortona , Transimeno lake , ... all at close distances ). We even went "horse riding" ( LUCA manege) with the kids accompanied by Carol - one of the many unforgettable moments of our stay .
For those prefering to stay on the SLOWLIFE territory no worries as Bruno stands ready every day to serve a menu with purity and great regional products . WE WILL RETURN TO THIS FANTASTIC PLACE .

Room Tip: All the rooms we have seen are very comfortable and well designed

We had a really nice time. Rooms and pool are great, meals on the terrace also stunning. Very welcoming hosts too, and flexible to any food requirements. But the best thing was the the peaceful location - just the pool and trees and the sun in the sky. Great

We stayed in this boutique hotel for four nights in May 2013. It is set in a lovely garden in the beautiful Umbrian landscape.
Carol and Bruno, our hosts, were so eager to make our stay special. Bruno is a superb chef and the food was of the highest quality - local fresh asparagus pasta and chocolate mouse were memorable. They also gave us suggestions for local walks and attractions further afield - Castiglione del Largo and Cortona were a pleasant day's drive.
It was so peaceful and quiet only the sounds of birds and distant bells could be heard (from a church just visible on the horizon, and bells on the neighbour's sheep tinkling as they moved into the olive plantation on a nearby ridge)
May in Umbria is so special - wildflowers, warm days and cool nights - wish we lived closer so we could come every year!

We loved staying at Slow Life Umbria for a number of reasons. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet, the owners treated us like royalty - but in a very genuine way and despite its country setting, is close to so many nearby towns full of history, art and culture. The rooms and furnishings were exquisite as was the food in the restaurant. We're already planning our trip back as there is so much to see in this part of Italy and what better a place to make home base!

My wife & I travelled with friends to Slow Life last March. (This review is long overdue)

I live the life of a high tech large account program manager - high stress is just a fact of my working life.
To start our vacation I wanted some downtime, but not at the usual beach resort - something different. Well, we definitely found that at Slow Life. This is the most relaxing place I have ever been to - it literally sucks the stress out of a person. No TV in the room, cell phone / BlackBerry coverage was very poor - (I gave up) - my wife was happy that I was cut off. There was some wifi in the main sitting area of the Villa that I managed to connect to a couple of times (did not always work), so at least I had a bit of a soother connection to reach family in Canada by emails.

The Inn is set in the hills in such a setting that only by being there will you understand the raw connection with nature and feel the disconnection from our high tech world that I needed. An old world like scene of rolling green hills with olive trees that are hundreds of years old, accompanied by the sights and sounds of bells from the flocks of sheep that are in the surrounding pastures.
Bruno & Carol are awesome hosts & their children most educated in local history and incredibly polite.
It is a wonderful place to stay, de-stress, connect with nature and enjoy some excellent food & wine.

I would highly recommend this spot for a team "woods outing" or team building get away where there are a minimum of distractions, or it is just a great base for couples to unwind and take some casual day trips in the surrounding region.
Car a must if you want to sight see in great places like Assisi, Cortona or Perugia. Magione is the nearest town and easy to get to - we picked up some large bottles of very cheap Chianti there that was so good we went back the next day to get more.

Slow Life get's two thumbs up from us!!
