“Quaint Restaurant with lovely staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We were dropped off here by our B&B owner for lunch. We were quickly welcomed with a glass of prosecco by the owner. We started with Panzanella Seafood Salad and Prosciutto and Melon and both plates come out of the kitchen looking likes works of art. When a dish is beautiful and delicious there isn't too much more you can ask for. We had the Spaghetti alle Vongole and Carbonara Ravioli for our primi course. There were some many clams in the pasta we had to take a picture and the Ravioli were well done. For dessert we indulged in the Vin Santo and Biscotti and lemon sorbetto. We would go back here in a minute.

“Nice and cosy dining outside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

We have visited this restaurant several times last year, and returned this year. The menu has a wide variety of fish, but there is still sufficient choice of meat dishes if you do not eat fish. So ample choice. The outside terrace is very nicely decorated and you are dining outside underneath large sun screens. Or if you prefer you can dine inside. The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. We received a good suggestion for the wine to accompany our dishes. At last, it is a nice place for a romantic dinner.

“Nice ambience - Over-fussy, over-priced seafood - Snobby owner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2011

After several recommendations by locals for the 'best seafood around' we headed here on a Friday night. On arrival, discovered a delightful candle-lit, tented outdoor dining area with plenty of atmosphere. Young waiter and waitress were attentive and professional. That's the good part...

On the downside: Menu was over-fussy (I mean octopus stuffed with pear and pecorino!), table decor ghastly and food presentation was over-elaborate (ie. Who wants their fish carcass deep fried and presented on their plate?). Major down side are the prices (far too high for what is being offered), narrow and nasty wine list (our Fiano di Avalino at €18 was not a good example of the famous Campagna wine) and the aloofness of the owner (Walked past several times without even a 'buona sera'). Felt like he'd made his money over the years (judging by the vintage cars and horses he had collected) – and had long lost interest in customer service. Overall, very average and we wouldn't go back in hurry.

For the best seafood around head to Canta Napoli in Camucia-Cortona. Genuine Neapolitan seafood, at good prices with a great wine list and friendly owners/staff.

“You must love the athmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2011 via mobile

We returned here after 3 years and had the same experience as 2008. The food is very good, the service a bit cool but efficient and the feeling just fantastic! Sitting outside In nicely decorated courtyard/terrace just makes this place quite unique.

We had both seafood and meats, and enjoyed everything, the price level is high for Italy and the other customers (male) all driving BMW's, MB and the like. However, we will go back there again.
