just back from 2 wondeful weeks in beautiful santorini. stayed at the sea view studios in perivolos, which were very basic, however an ideal base for the island. Plenty pubs, restaurants and shops, and right on the beach as well. Public transport not a problem ( bus every half hour) and they take you to Thira (where you can change for Oia, Kamari) and not expensive! Rooms were very clean and the owner, Leftaris does all to help.
Great pub to visit in Perissa, ( only 15min walk from Perivolos) is Dorian's Pub!! Nice relaxed atmosphere, music from the 50's, 60's and 70's and the cheapest pint and cocktails as well. the owner is lovely man who gives you a warm and friendly greeting in beautiful surroundings.
Great restaurant to visit is God's Garden, ( jsut off main st Perissa, opp the Tobacco shop). Excellent meal and great value for money. Acropolis restaurant came 2nd.
Beautiful island with breathtaking scenery and absolutely amazing sunset- well worth a visit!
