“Good food at a reasonable price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

The café is a nice bright open space with an upper level, but it’s half-hidden on a side street and shares a building (and washrooms) with a movie theatre. We hit it on a Tuesday at lunch time. It was alive and boisterous, but not overcrowded or loud. They have a couple of big sofas and some well-padded high-back chairs in addition to the standard tables and chairs. You place your order at the counter next to the large glass-fronted display case that shows most of the food that’s on the menu, and then you place it on your tray and take it to your table. We had soup-of-the-day and sandwich combos, mine a steak and mozzarella panini with a potato and celery cream soup, the other a chicken Caesar Panini with tomato and rotini soup. They are good value at barely $20 for the two combos. The steak sandwich was quite good and I liked that the sauce is on the side so your can add it to your liking. The celery and potato soup was very tasty and quite creamy, not watery. The Caesar Panini was also good but lacked any serious punch while the tomato and rotini soup was full of flavour, almost country style. I found the coffee a little weak, but maybe that’s just me - I like my coffee black, full bodied and strong, and this didn’t quite make that cut. But like I said, maybe that’s just me. I did chat with a few of the other guests and they all raved about the specialty coffees like the café moka or café-au-lait. Next time maybe I’ll order a double espresso...

“The best coffee in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2012 via mobile

Great place to get a healthy snack at lunch time or even in the evening. The menu isn't big although there is a nice choice. They serve great coffee even with a drive-thru. Great people, great friendly service

“A great place for decent coffee and healthy bites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2009

You're served at the counter - there are lots of employees, but it only seems like one or two know what they're actually doing. The specialty coffees (e.g., espresso, café au lait) comes out of a machine (not a real espresso bar), and is probably overpriced for what you get, but not bad. They have a great choice of healthy meals (salads, some wraps) as well as stuff that goes right to your belly/hips (desserts, pies). The toilets are located in the adjacent cinema, but they're clean.
The best parts about Tazza:
Free wireless Internet (unsecured access)
Very spacious with comfy (if somewhat worn) furniture
Awesome views of the water from the upstairs
Lots of light - it's generally a cheery place, even if the minimum-wage employees are a bit grumpy.
