“amazing beaches of Favignana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2015 NEW

We wanted to stay in Favignana for few days, but in august lot´s of accomodation options were already booked. However we took a boat from Trapani (goes everyday every hour - schedules depends on companies, but you can find the information in Port and at infopoints).Right upon arrival we rented bikes (approximately 7EUR per bike for the whole day).Island is flat so it is easy to bike from one beach to another. Also it is easy to find your direction, In one day we managed to visit 3 beaches Cala Rossa, Bue Marino and Cala azzura. My favourite was Bue Marino, but Cala Rossa was beautiful as well. Beaches are very natural, rocky with cristal clear water. You can find shadow under the rocks/small caves but they might be occupied. So be prepared for direct sun. Also as they are rocky beaches, you find your spot to lie down on the rocks etc.(for someone this might not be really comfortable). However the sea is amazing so it is definitely worth to visit.Usually u have to get to beach by going down the hilly side but its managable without any difficulties. On the tops u usually have beautiful view over the bays/beaches.There are also small refreshment stands (offering mostly drinks and juices, I am not sure about food. we brought our own which we have bought in the city in Favignana. After the whole day at the beach we had dinner in the city (be aware of siesta so many restaurants open their kitchens only after 7pm).Still u can have nice apetizer and rink in various stylish bars - as we did as well.Enjoy the amazing blue waters of Favignana

“Simply a paradise.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2015 NEW

Favignana is the pearl of the Aegean archipelago, the most beautiful of the three islands. Easily reachable from the port of Trapani by hydrofoil with a modest price of about € 18-20 round trip, or just € 10 one way.
The island is quite large, about 15 km from side to side, so I think it is essential to having to rent a bike or a scooter in terms to easily visit every corner of the island, you can do so directly at the harbor in one of the many rental shops, rent a scooter for just a € 25 daily only driver's license needed, no deposit etc .. For the bike I think from € 5-10.
There are fantastic place in Favignana, the most beautiful are Cala Rossa, Cala Azzurra, Cala Rotonda and Lido Burrone.
The town is very pretty, with lots of shops and restaurants in the center and the church in main the central square.
There are also some spots that are inaccessible by land but only coming by boat, coves and hidden caves that lead to making only a few fishermen in the area you could visit.
The first time in Favignana is unforgettable, it will remain indelible memories of this paradise in your hearts.

“Great Island, better not in August”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2015

Sea is just amazing and you can bike around and stop for a swim. Few good hotels, few very good restaurants, best spots are out of control and poor organization but still, a great place to visit. August may be terrible as tourism (not environment friendly) is spoiling the island. 3 days are enough then move to Levanzo or Marettimo and take time to visit Trapani. But if you go in end September or early June then you may find yourself in paradise..

“Sea, sea and ... sea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2015

Very beautiful island and surrounding landscapes with the other islands of the archipelago on both sides and the coast of Sicily not far to the East with, Trapani, Marsala and Erice promontory. The best of the island is the sea; even there are not so much beaches you can have a bath, a dive and a swim everywhere. Prices of everything are very high: be careful, you can spend easily a lot of money doing very simple things.

“Best Holiday Island Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2015

The best place I visited while on a month long trip to Sicely. The athomosphere, the vibe, the holiday spirit and very authentic.
Found 1st floor holiday apartment accomodation right in the middle of the main square, looking out at the Church to the right and all the shops & resturants below.
Visited the entire island by bicycle which came with the Apartment, and swam on every coce and beach.
I am usually a been there done that type, but this is one place 'I will be back'
