While staying at the Chateau Heralec country hotel, we have decided to sample a typical Czech "hospoda" (something between a pub and an inn) for a change - and, after researching the choices around Jihlava at the Ceskomoravska Vysocina region, we found ourself at the B2B Cafe Restaurant.
Together with our visiting American friends, who were also staying at the lovely Chateau Heralec, we made a reservation at the B2B - and eventually arrived to this very unpretentious, to use a euphemism, place. The restaurant has a really off-putting surroundings, not only unattractive but also extremely untidy- in every sense of this term.
The meals served in this establishment are, I suppose, what one would expect from a provincial "hospoda". None of the several dishes we have tasted had been inedible though, of course, none had been "anything to write home about", to put it mildly. The fish was fresh but heavily overcooked to the point of tasting like a compacted cotton-wool - and the meat dishes suffered the same destiny (completely impossible to even discern whether the meals were made of a beef or a pork meat, sauces obviously all from the same pot whatever they have been served with - again, everything was edible but only just just).
Having finished our excursion to the local offerings of Jihlava region, we have gratefully returned to the restaurant of the Chateau Heralec and its young but rather talented Chef - for the rest of our stay at Heralec.
I am afraid, I could not recommend this eatery to even the most retiring tourists visiting Ceskomoravska Vysocina.
