“Another fun, relaxing trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2011

Our third year to Royal deCameron, Bucerias - still as great as the first two years. We have gone from last week in Nov.-Dec, this time Dec.10 to 17th and the weather was great as usual.
Staff is always awesome, very accommodating and everything so nice and clean and food great.

Room Tip: We always have stayed in Block 5 or 6, ground floor. This year staff was so great as sister was c...

We travelled with 3 daughters, 2 sons in law and 3 children aged 2, 4 and 5. We had 4 rooms in Block 6 and we couldn't have asked for a better holiday. The service and food was excellent! We had been here 10 years ago and the improvements in the food selections were terrific. We would all go back today if we could!

Room Tip: Block 6 is usually very quiet except when new groups come in. But after one day of sun and a night...

My Fiancee and I had such a good time at this resort we are planning on going back and can't wait! This will be my 6th visit to Mexico, I have stayed at 5 stars and private residents, however for being only a 3 star I was impressed! The rooms are very clean and each has it's own balcony, beds are very comfortable, no problem with the room. We stayed in block 5 adults only, so if you want quiet and don't want kids running around this is the place for you. Remember the rooms do not have refridgerators which I found to be a bit strange, however I really didn't miss it like I thought I might.

Food was excellent! There is a large selection so no problem there! We did go to Bucerias a couple of times to eat and you must try Fat Boys, right on the beach, excellent sea food and the best Margaritas! Ladies get the second one free!

The locals are extremely friendly, friendlier than any other place I have travelled in Mexico!

The beach is large and you can walk for miles, however the water is not the carribean, you are on the pacific side after all. If your into boogie boarding or body surfing you will like it!

The entertainment is the best I have ever seen, we went 4 nights in row, I have never seen such talented dancers.....the bar by the beach is open until midnight or later and is a great place to meet others or just to relax with drink!

Hey this is your holiday you can make it what you want, it's not glitzy, but it's fun, relaxing or whatever you want to make it! The sunsets are beautiful....have fun!

You will meet Oscar on the beach. He is a very nice trust worthy activity organizer. My family and friends went fishing which Oscar organized. They caught their limit with in the first hour and a half (five forty pound tunas) he then had the fish cooked at a true mexican restaurant where they were served a five course meal that all revolved around the fish. It was awesome!!!!! Our quading trip to the tequilla factory was also through Oscar. Thanks Oscar, the Vos's and the Rafters

Never one to give up on a place I love back I went in Sept 2011 and to my delight the Royal Decameron was back on track with pretty much everything. I gave it 4 out of 5 cuz the new manager changed the coffee and I really liked the old coffee. Yes coffee is that big a thing to me and my travel companion. But in the big picture this resort rocks. Affordable, friendly, easy walking access to Bucerias a quick bus trip to PV. Really recommend the experience of the local bus service. Also Scott's tours (a Canadian guy enjoying the good life south) which is just before you reach the bridge going into Bucerias if you follow the road just outside the RC. Planning the next visit and can't wait. Oh if your a tattoo person Bucerias Tattoos which is right across the road from the RC on the 2nd floor above the shops he is a Canadian artist and he does some fine work. In the same area there are two bars. One you access from the road going to Bucerias and it's on the top floor the other is a great little place, especially if you have a hankering for fries and it's on the ground level. The place on the ground level offers free wifi when you order even a coffee gets you the code. Go have fun!

We stayed at the Royal Decameron Dec 3-10th 2011. Really a great resort with friendly staff. Our room was located in building #1 and we had an ocean view. I would bring ear plugs next time as we were to bed early most nights and could here the music from this location. It is worth the stunning views during the day though. Its nice to sit on the balcony and have a drink. The food did get redundant, so we had a nice meal out one night. We would go back to this resort!
Some suggestions...
-Mega Mart is 5 min up the road by bus - you can get clammato there, your fav booze, sunscreen, anything you may have forgotten at home
-Book your tours through Scotts Tours. He is not on the resort, will cater to what you want, and save you money. He is not a time share - He is a Canadian living in Bucerias. We used him our first trip to Puerto Vallarta 5 years ago, and also booked 2 trips through him this time. He is located just before the foot bridge in Bucerias. We did ZipLining - Amazing!, and we also chartered a fishing boat where we fished, saw whales, were taken to a private lsland to hang out, and it was cheaper than taking the tour bus at the resort. You will save a lot of time by booking through Scott as you don't have to get on one of the big tour buses. You make your own schedule. We were back a the resort early afternoon both days we did trips.
- If you want a nice meal off the resort check out Sandrinas. Again, owned by Canadians. Beautiful garden setting with amazing food.
- There is a sports bar right across the street from the resort. The owner is from Mexico and is just starting out. Very friendly . We wanted to watch the Oilers game one night and he put it on for us without hesitation. He makes a mean Ceaser too! yum. And he also hosted a tequila tasting one afternoon where we learned what Tequila to pick on the way home.
- We found that the beach vendors where waaayyy overcharging and you could find the same product in the store right beside the sports bar. He does not barter but is priced well. Remember he has to pay rent for the store space unlike the beach vendors.
- if you are looking for necklaces/beads etc check out the "store" on the way to Scotts. She has hundreds of styles and will barter What a freindly person too! She is setup between two buildings.
- want a massage? I paid $20.00 and had the best massage of my life. It was off the resort at the first tent on the beach. I should have gone back for a second one...
This is a great area to stay in with lots to do on and off the resort. Have fun!

We arrived at RDC Dec 3 2011.It came highly reccommened to us .I enjoyed my stay there the food was awesome. Except for the Italian. The buffet there is so much of a variety to choose from.good variety of drinks coffee was also good.No WIFI.Lawn chairs are plastic need to buy a blow up floaty for them.Bed was hard room was clean. A fridge would be nice in the rooms.Walking distance to Bucieras. They are very pushy there I did not care for that.We went on the Las Calties and Swimming with the dolphins excuriosions had an Awesome time. Next time zip lining. Buy your tickets on the beach or out side of the hotel much cheaper.Staff bent over backwards for us especially Izaura front counter. We swam in the ocean did boogie boarding good waves. But we discovered on the Wed that alot of us had red marks all over our body not itchy I still have mine went to the doctor and he said they are sand fleas :( .We also hung out at the pool block 5 nice and quiet..

I will be going back to this hotel in 2012.

Room Tip: Adult section block 5 nice and quiet
