“Welcoming producers; great wines!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Tokaj is a must visit for any winelover. Not only is the village of Tokaj cosy and hosting some fine producers such as Demeter Zoltan, but it is also a quite cheap place to stay at. Not like many other well-known wine tourism regions which can be quite pricey.

Also visit the small town of Mád and the producers located here. Istvan Szepsy and the Royal Tokaj Wine Company for example. Eat at Gusteau's!

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Tokaj wine region is the best, if you like sweet wines. It's one of the bests in the world. After a great wine cellar visit you have plenty of things to do. The kids can go to the adventure park, you can visit great spas, or you can hiking in the montains. It's simply perfect.

“5 star wine cellar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

I visited the Rakoczi-Pince es Udvarhaz wine cellar in down town Tokaj. The cellar was right in the downtown are of Tokaj and the reception was very friendly. I did not make any reservations to visit their wine cellar. They did an informative tour of the cellar and I got to choose from 4 different tasting themes. The theme i choose was the 4 different types of Tokaj Aszui. I enjoyed all 4 different blends that they made at the vineyard. The tour guide spoke in english, and the wine was terrific. This was a 5 star wine cellar and I learned a lot about Tokaj Aszui.

“A Must Visit for Wine Lovers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012 via mobile

If you've never had a Tokaj desert wine and you like wine, you must go to Tokaj. There is a certain mold that grows on some of the grapes there due to climactic conditions and it causes the grapes to decay in a way that results in the most amazingly sweet wines you've ever tried. King Louis XIV said Tokaj wine was the wine of the kings, and it is hard to argue with him! This is a wonderful day tour from Miskolc, Hungary or Kosice, Slovakia. Be sure to visit the Rakoczi Pince winery and go on one of the taste tours. Not a great trip to take with young children, in this reviewer's opinion. The town of Tokaj is very quiet and there isn't much for the kids to do.

“Wowed by the wines”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

I knew how famous the sweet wines of Tokaji were before going here but the other dry wines are amazing as well. Go to the town of Mad and visit Szepsy Wines and Gusteau restaurant for an unforgettable experience.
