“A little or a lot... it's up to you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

We have been to Cafe Strada several times over the years and its always been very good. Sometimes we've had a full meal, other times a light snack, and sometimes we just stop and get a takeaway coffee.

They do breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and there is certainly plenty to choose from on the menu and they have a selection of counter food too. We always find the staff are friendly and efficient.

On Saturday (29 March) we called in on our way from Upper Hutt to Woodville as it's a good halfway point - we ordered two extra hot lattes to takeway. They were good and hot which was great.

Late afternoon on our way home we stopped again and this time we took a break and had some wedges and a pot of English breakfast tea each. I think the wedges were called the deluxe or the works - they had cheese, heaps of bacon and sour cream. We shared a bowl which was plenty big enough for two for an afternoon snack. I think they are the best wedges I've ever had. We both managed to get three cups of tea out of our tea pots and there was plenty of milk too!

The food, drink and service is always good and it's well priced - it's worth a visit.

“great service and food, good value - no points off”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Parking was a breeze. Indoor and outdoor (streetside) seating available. Waitress attended to us right away, but wasn't pushy. This continued throughout the entire experience. Menu was explained and specials highlighted as one would expect. It was sufficiently varied with a range of dishes and prices. Food was quite well-executed and arrived hot. Music wasn't too loud and content was good. Desserts were generous and after dinner drink selections more than adequate.

“Always consistent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

Great coffee and great food served in a professional manner from a tiny kitchen. Menu ranges from snacks to a full dinner accompanied by a quality wine list. Realisticaly priced. Good value.

“Great food on a Sunday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

We were recommended to go here by the receptionist at our hotel and what a good recommendation it was. The menu is varied with a specials board each day. My wife had the fish and I had the steak (medium/well). Both were served up quickly and I have to say that my steak was one of the best I have ever had - rarely is a m/w steak done to perfection but this chef managed it. I would certainly go there again and have no problem with recommending it to others.

“Quick dinner before a movie”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

We just had a fantastic dinner here with excellent service. I had the lamb curry which was very tender with a delicious rich gravy and my husband had the fillet steak which he thoroughly enjoyed. We shared a chocolate mud cake which was perfect. Not sure if we can stay awake for the movie now. Definitely recommend!!
