I hesitate to write this review because I don't ever want to be in a position of not being able to stay here because it is booked! We stayed here on the front end of our 25 days in NZ and the problem going forward was that the bar was now set pretty high. The inn is only 6-7 years old and was purpose built. It still has a feeling of being new and is very clean and well decorated. There is a lot of attention to detail here, even the small things. The structural design of the inn allows a lot of privacy and there is a lot of common space that is very cozy. The owners Chris and Peter made us feel at home and were very helpful. We were staying in Turangi so that we could do the Tongariro Crossing. We opted to take the 6 am bus and informed Chris that we would be getting up early to do so. We told her it would be fine if she left a cold buffet breakfast out for us, but she insisted on getting up at 5:00 in the morning to make a full cooked breakfast for us. It was a fabulous breakfast and in our opinion, way above and beyond what an inn keeper would/should do for a guest at that hour of the morning! The patio and common areas were open to us to use as if we were members of the family and breakfast the second day, at a more reasonable hour of 8:30, was exceptional. Peter's blueberry pancakes are a special treat. If you are staying in Turangi, look no further.
