“NO ONE AT THE INN”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

Called at this pub for lunch today, had searched on internet for somewhere around Caistor. Website showed a good menu choice. Only a van in the car park and one car at the front of the pub. Went into bar - lights on behind the bar but no one to be seen. Waited, and waited - no one appeared so walked out. When we passed later in the day same car on the front but a different van in the car park - suggest website is obviously out of date as there is a sign outside about managing this pub.

“Lovely Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2014

Visited this pub for the first time in November for a family meal, we had selections from the evening menu. we had a bit of a hiccup at the start as they didnt have any Surf & turf available, my fellow guests made alternative selections & we were shown to the restaurant area to be seated. When the meals arrived the portions were very generous, I had the Ribs, served with Chips Onion rings & salad, it was all very nicely cooked & well presented. I shall be visiting the Cross Keys again & recommending it to friends!

“another great meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

dropped in Thursday 21st for a meal, love this place, always something interesting on the menu coupled with stunning views from the dining room.
Steak and ale pie and rack of ribs (really needs two plates!) - all served with the usual bits, and ALL home cooked - none of the frozen rubbish. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great views,... oh and San Miguel on draught!!

Thanks Kelly, ... see you soon for some Game Pie.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013 via mobile

Decided to try the Cross Keys with friends as there aren't many eateries around the Caistor area and wanting a comfy pub feel we got exactly what we wanted.....if I was to have a gripe it would be two of the drinks we ordered (1draught, 1 optic) were unavailable as they had run out, but we were given alternative choices and we were completely satisfied. We were given our menus and there was a superb selection, I would say ' Something for everyone' and well priced....we ordered our meals and sat in the comfortable lounge bar to enjoy our drinks. We were called through to the very nice dining area where there was a lovely basket of hot bread awaiting us......we had all ordered different meals off the menu (1 Sirloin Steak, 1 Beef Bourguignon, 1 Lamb Shank and a Crumbed Chicken dish.) these were all superbly presented, piping hot, homemade, fresh and very big portions 'Delicious' these were accompanied by gorgeous chips, onion rings and side salad. One of our party decided they wanted a sweet to which they chose a Chocolate Sponge Pudding with cream, again which was hot and very generous. We finished our meals and returned to the lounge/ bar for more drinks. All in all a lovely meal in lovely surroundings with beautiful food. Well Done The Cross Keys we will defiantly be back.
