“hotel sur menorca”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Just returned from a week at the Sur Menorca. We found it to be clean, staff polite and informative. food good and a varied choice. Show cooking was great and our Grandson loved it. Rooms were a very good size except for the bathroom which was adequate but shower was a squeeze as it was fitted into a small space by the washhand basin, not good if you are on the large size. Could be noisy at night. Pool area had plenty of sunbeds and if you wanted it a bit quiter you could get one on the grass area. Entertainment was excellent and I have seen a few acts over the years and this hotel had very professional ones. If I had one negative, it would be that the lounge area needed more table and chairs and not so many sofas. All in all a very good week.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view but third floor corner would be my choice.

Just returned from Sur Menorca for the fourth time . We keep on saying that we will try somewhere new but somehow return back to this hotel . Each time we return we see the same old regulars , some of whom have been there 12 times .
Why .. well you know what you are getting with this hotel ,it's a 3 star that doesn't pretend to be anything else . All the staff are friendly and helpful and have been their for years , rooms are clean and basic and food has actually improved since last year , although the coffee is still pretty undrinkable and a better selections of fresh bread in the mornings would help .
There are some niggles , cost cutting mean that the animation team work with poor equipment , archery was abandoned because the one and only arrow got broken during the game and the float used in the pool games is still broken ( but kept by the pool ) after a year .There were only 7 sun umbrella's when we went last October and now there are none .These are minor complaints but wouldn't cost much toput right .

It's a quiet hotel where everything stops at 11.00 so ideal for very young families and couples .

It's in a quiet resort but access to Punta Prima and Mahon is very good by bus

Unfortunately the train from Punta Prima to Binnebeque has stopped now , shame !

All in all we had a peaceful and relaxing holiday, despite the weather not being ideal

Room Tip: Try and hire a car to see the Island , it is extremely cheap using one of the car hire companies in...

Just got back from a weeks stay here, as previously said there was a lot of small children running around and the hotel was very noisy especially at night time until the early hours. Food wasn't great for me as a vegetarian, there was hardly any choice all week and I survived on pasta and bread. All the meals seemed to have meat added to it. For the meat eater though there was a varied choice of food (mainly spanish cuisine, squid, veal etc) which needed to be a bit hotter but there was always plenty available. One member of the family suffered from an upset stomach whilst here but that could have been due to the water or the food. The drinks on all inclusive were great, you could have what you wanted and the measures of spirits were very generous. Plus points were the size of the rooms and the cleanliness. Rooms were cleaned everyday and sheets changed. Some staff were very friendly others quite rude. The hotel itself is a fair way from anything although there is a free minibus to punta prima which is a small town with a small beach. Entertainment was varied, a few good acts, and the kids entertainers tried hard. Glad we came back when we did as it was getting very full and I wouldn't like to be there in full season. All in all a nice holiday for the price but wouldn't go back again.

Just back from a week at Sur Menorca Club Hotel, what can I say, very good value for money. All staff excellent, polite and very helpful, specifically the Reception staff . Hotel itself was spotlessly clean everywhere, food offered plenty of choice although I have to admit it could have been much hotter !! . We found that with the special offers at this time of year there were families with very small children making it rather noisy, which could increase significantly in the height of the season. However if like us you are looking for a reasonably price break then this Hotel still fits the bill as a 3 star rating holiday. .

We arrived at the Hotel Sur Menorca on the 2nd day of the season found it very quiet but hotel in a fantastic location if you like the away from it all holiday. We like walking so it was not a problem.

Hotel is clean, food is ok - but avoid the bacon as you cannot even cut it as it is so hard! apart from that good choice always something you can have. Was well impressed with the strawberries for sweet - very tasty!

Room was basic but as said before clean, although they could do with replacing the curtains very old and did not meet in the middle (Think they may have shrunk with the heat!)

Entertainment meadocre - we had bingo twice in the week - ok if you like that sort of thing - just 2 shows which were ok.

Bus service from the hotel very good and cheap - we went into Mahon twice (well worth a visit)
cost less than £3 for the two of us.

All in all a beautiful island - will definately go again - could not complain with the all inclusive costing £265 each for the week - very good value.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor overlooking the pool- very good views and got the sun in the afternoon an...

Think I will start with yes hotel is not the best ever but it is a 3* hotel after all
And have to say a very good 3* . Food was lovely and even my 4 year old daughter always ate well although have to say snacks were rubbish sandwiches at 11-11.30 ,3-3.30 and 9.30-10 and they didnt taste very nice either bit we were so full most of toms didnt even go for snacks . Picnic service was lovely order at reception b4 1pm
Day b4 you want it comes in nice box and has rolls, packets of meat , tins of tuna , spreadable cheese, water , fruit and plastic cutlery . There wasn't as much variety of food as other hotels I have been to but as if go busier more food was put out and on Tuesday our last night they had show cooking at night so not sure if they did that next night or not . Drinks I loved San migel beer, all branded pop and spirits were gin, vodka, apple schnapps (my fav) peach schnapps , coffee liquor ( very nice) all 3 types of wine and think there was some other spirits too but the juice that was on was fresh orange so if you like fresh orange and vodka you would have to pay 1 euro a bottle and coffee was horrible but if u pay 1 euro u can have the good stuff . Bar staff were very nice and quick and very generous with measures . In dinning room you serve your self drinks but they don't have spirits in dinning room but bar is just outside dinning room and we used to take drinks in with us . All staff were lovely and entertainment team worked very hard my daughter loved mini club and mini disco . Every other night there was act on and on nights acts weren't on there was quiz or bingo . Lord of dance were AMAZING and Abba very good too . Hotel is out of way but not major problem as courtesy bus Goes into punta prima which is where beach is and it has like couple of supermarkets and tack shops , market on Sunday and it has few bars and restaurant but if you wanna do some shopping mohan is lovely and there is bus every hour from outside hotel takes bout 20 mins and cost 1.65 there is market on tues and sat there too . Just 2 mins away upwards from hotel there is lovely bar n restaurant if you fancy change . Rooms were clean and nice they had all usual stuff and tv had bbc 1 n 2 , yeah only had showe but we didnt mind but if you have small baby wud be problem . There is also tv room which has sky and a big bookcase with loads of books think its case of take one leave one or take one and bring it back b4 u leave . Lovely pools but VERY cold but didnt put off the kids they loved it . It did have own shop but don't be expecting to buy cigs there hardly anywhere sells them to get big packs it has to be mohan and it don't sell milk either . If you go up to where mini club is there is a park and another kids pool which is bit warmer. Yeah towels don't get changed everyday but that is same at most 3 * hotels . The bands for all inclusive are rubbish they are like paper n u are constantly getting new ones dinning room is pretty big but as it wasn't busy only half open but on each side it has drinks machines and there is 2 bars but again cos wasn't busy only one open . Hotel very clean and couldn't say there was anything majorly wrong but like said wasn't best hotel been to but I paid more for the better hotels a lot more

Just returned from a weeks stay ay hotel sur menorca. Nice clean hotel bedrooms a little small but very clean and at the end of the day your not spending your holiday in your room!! We had a pool and sea view on third floor beautiful! Quite loud at night until about 11pm because of entertainment but didnt put us off. Pool area spotless however pool is FREEZING BEWARE!! Food is nice however stay away from chicken as not properly cooked. Staff friendly and amination team work very hard and are lovely. Hotel runs a free shuttle beach into punta prima and there is a main bus from the hotel into Mahon every hour really easy to get around. Hotel felt very safe to be in and is ideal for both families and couples of all ages. In all had a lovely stay at the sur menorca.

Room Tip: Third floor pool view beautiful views of pool and sea however a little loud until 11pm.
