We visited this restaurant twice - in August 2009, and then again in September 2010, on our second visit to Sicily. It was recommended to us by locals, and especially for cous cous.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to try it, as on both occasions we were there for late lunch (after 2 pm) and both times there wasn't any left! So, a suggestion: call and see when it's on their offer, and then reserve a table!
The restaurant is located on the outskirts of the town, en route to Macari. Then you make a turn left and follow the road. It offers a private parking, a large garden/terrace sitting area which is naturally ventilated, cozy, with a fake rustic but still pleasant decorations, and nice view of the mountain.
Quite interesting for kids, too, as there is a small fountain with pond fish.
The staff is friendly, the owner emerges from the kitchen to say a few jokes every now and then. If the kids speak Italian, better not let them hear the jokes :)
They offer bruschette alla Trapanese as a free appetizer - exellent, my daughter loved them and when we started planning our second trip to Sicily in 2010 asked specifically that we visit this restaurant so that she can eat them again!
I found their phone number online: [--] hope it can be useful.
For antipasti, excellent shrimp cocktail and octopus salad.
Then there is a vast offer of pastas, all quite delicious: tris di pasta (3 types of pasta), busiate alla Norma (recommended!), "Vedova allegra", ravioli...
Their offer of desserts is also very good: cassatelle, tiramisu, and excellent sorbet.
White wine (bottled, not house wine),and coffee...
The prices were higher in 2010 then on our 2009 visit, and the food was better in 2009. I hope they won't continue to decline, as, all in all, both times we found it a pleasant lunch - admtitedly, overall, better in 2009.
