“Molto bene!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

I really enjoyed my time in this hotel. As far as I know, coffee was the best that I have tried in Sicily. Owner was really attentive and we could not ask more. The only problem were mosquitoes, but that was not the issue of the hotel. Its strange that it has only 3 stars... Location was perfect and i don’t have any negative recension for this place. If I will ever end up in Sicily again, that is the place I will stay in.

A new concept of how to run a hotel, it was like staying at a friend's house. The friendly and attentive staff, clean rooms, excellent service, not expensive, there is no doubt where I will stay next time I go back to San Vito Lo Capo. When you come to San Vito (the owner Benedict very kind person) took our luggage and brought it up to our room, which tells you what type of service you receive from him Vitalba Catherine and her staff. The hotel is located 120 meters from the beach line. Clean rooms, amazing and attentive staff, no matter where you need: a pair of wine glasses, towels, or custom advide on where to go for dinner, what next village to visit ... or simply share a joke. Amazing hotel to stay if you plan to visit the north-west Sicily (Erice, must go. And Zingaro Nature Reserve, the most beautiful beaches and Calas always) and you have a car. Valet parking available 24 hours survieallance. I highly recommend renting a car, and spend your holiday in Al-Tair, and from there to go around for day trips. Benedict Vitalba Catherine and thank you for the wonderful holiday that we have passed in Sicily

Some rooms does not have windows and no air , dark rooms. Poor breakfast but clean. Does not deserve the price at all. If you have a car you need to fight all the time to find a parking because the area is closed to traffic and the parking is 1 euro per hour. This is the most beautiful plage in the island and not much to doo because the distances are very far from each other and the roads are not good. Everyday getting lost with GPS. Even the most famous beach San vito lo cappo is very poor as plantation and dirty environment. I will never go back to that island.

A friend and I stayed here for 2 nights during the couscous festival and paid €120 a night. The hotel is in a great location right in the centre of the village and just a 5min walk from the beach.

We were allocated a room on the ground floor which looked out onto the internal patio/courtyard. The room was large and very clean and the bed was comfortable there was also a mini bar (which is always a plus) however it was really dark and gloomy. The bathroom had a decent shower, however what I found a bit offputting was the fact that I could people in adjacent bathrooms using the toilet or having a shower! There was no hairdryer or any complimentary toiletries - given what we paid to stay here I would have thought that these would have been provided.

The breakfast was a bit of a disappointment - it consisted of some fruit, a lump of cheese, a plate of cheap sliced salami, some bread rolls and a few pastries laid out onto the table. I just felt that there was a real lack of effort made here - a variety of fresh bread and a toaster, a jug of good quality juice instead of the nasty longlife stuff they served up, a selection of hams and salamis, hard boiled eggs perhaps?

Upon check out, in addition to paying €240 for our 2 night stay we were told that we had to pay a local tax of €1 per person per night. Whilst an additional €4 is no big deal I just felt like it was a bit of a nerve given what we had already paid for a room at a very average hotel. Why was this tax not mentioned upon booking? Or even better why not just incorporate it into the cost of the stay instead of asking people to pay up more money when they're already smarting from being a tad ripped off?!

An ok hotel, but I'm sure that there are plenty of other ok hotels in the area which are cheaper.

We stayed at Hotel Al-Tair for one week in June 2011 with our two year old and had a lovely time.

The hotel is in the centre of the village - easy access to the shops, main street and beach.

We were given a ground-floor room which made life easy with the pram (although we rarely used it as everything was in walking distance, even for small legs) and it had plenty of room for the extra cot.

The staff and owners were very nice and available.

We stayed in this family-run small hotel this month. It was absolutely immaculately clean and tidy, charmingly decorated and located close to all amenities. It took 5 min only to get to the beach and the main street is just around the corner. This is a really good value place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. We had the room with the balcony facing the street which was great. The only thing missing would be a couple of small chairs out there.

There are deals to get half board at nearby restaurants but we found there were so many nice places around that you are spoilt for choice. Only Italian channels on TV but we did not have any time to watch anyway!
