“Good place for stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014 via mobile

A good location for a stopover near the Rome airport. The staff is lovely and the rooms are quiet and clean. The beach is about a 20 minute walk away; there is also a good restaurant just down the street. The only oddity is the shuttle transfer to/from FCO. The schedule is a bit inconvenient for arrivals on overnight/transatlantic flights. Otherwise, very good.

This property is very nice and rooms really are suites with a hot pad for cooking, mini fridge, kitchen sink, dishes, etc and 2 TVs. However, we could not get any English channel even after the reception staff patiently explained how to do it! It is located in a semi residential area near the Rome airport. There is no food service other than a nice breakfast. But two restaurants are within a short walking distance. Reception staff was very helpful and spoke good English. Our room was on the ground floor, so I am not sure if there is an elevator. We were there only one night, which was fine, but I would not recommend the location if you were staying longer.

We had wanted to visit Ostia Antica, but the hotel shuttle schedule and our schedule did not mesh. That was a little disappointing as we did not realize how limited the shuttle schedule would be. So, we just relaxed and walked around the neighborhood and saw its many private spring blooming gardens.

The hotel is very close to the Fiumicino airport and offers perfectly well organised transfers from and to the airport (included in the price of the room). The staff is very helpful, nice and competent. Nearby to the hotel there is at least one restaurant which serves good Italian dinners.

All it makes Amelido Residence a perfect lodging for the night after and/or before your flight.

Closely located, very good value for money, very good and attentive service, free shuttle to/from the airport. We booked room for four people which was spacious and comfortable. Taxi from the hotel to Rome center was cheaper then using the train.

This is a great place to stay. We had one night here before flying out as we wanted to visit Ostia Antica. The hotel is very clean and newly refurbished. The family rooms were very comfortable with plenty of room for kids, bags etc. the staff were really friendly and we were very impressed with Gustavo who helped us out by arranging shuttles and taxis as well as a later check out of one of our rooms so we had somewhere to get organised and for my toddler to have a rest before our late afternoon flight.

So happy that we chose for the Amelindo Hotel for our last night in Rome. Gustavo at the reception was amazing, helping us with getting our passports back that were left at our last hotel in Paestum. We are so grateful to him, thanks again, Gustavo! He went out of his way for us!
Our room was very nice, new and clean. It was actually a studio, with a sitting area and TV, a kitchenette, bathroom and a separate bedroom. Gustavo had prepared the best babycot that we have ever been given in any hotel, including 5 star hotels! Not just a travel cot, but a real baby bed with beautiful soft bedlinen. Our baby son slept like an angel!! So did we. Breakfast was very nice. Free private car parking. We will stay here again when back in Rome. Thanks for everything.

Amelindo was such a great find. We got into Rome late and decided to stay near the airport. We liked Amelindo so much we booked a room on our return to Rome. It is immaculate, near some good restaurants, and Luana at the front desk was extremely helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to book a stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in different rooms on our two stays. Each was better than the last.
