“Great B and B near airport and transportation to and from FCO”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

This is a great B and B value that for us included transportation to and from the airport. The owners are so polite and friendly. The breakfast was good, the bed comfortable and their tip on where to eat was excellent. One of the best meals after 3 weeks of traveling in Europe. Take their recommendation. We also liked walking to the ocean--twice. Once, just for a walk to get oriented and again to eat dinner. We felt safe walking back after dinner in the dark. Part of this was because we were familiar with where we were going because we had had the first walk and knew exactly where we were going. When we saw the close proximity to the airport we thought it might be a long night of hearing airplanes but we were not bothered at all. The only cause for consternation was when we arrived by train at the train station/airport. We were told to go to the Olive Oil sign and call the B and B. Our cell phone did not work and we did not see a pay phone. We finally saw a young man with a cell phone who spoke English and seemed to be looking for some other travelers. We told him our predicament and he used his phone to call the B and B to alert them that we needed to picked up for our ride to the B and B. It all worked out but it was a little hiccup in the day. Things like that can happen and add to the adventure of traveling. Upon our departure, Roberta gave us a nice apron as a memento. It was a great place to stay before leaving for home.

We stayed at Albis for one night for our family of four the night before our flight back to Canada after 15 days of travel. It was wonderful and relaxing and the hosts were very kind! My husband said it felt like we were staying with family. The breakfast was great and the fridge was stocked with water, juices and snacks...which our kids enjoyed. The room was very spacious and meticulously clean. Without a doubt the softest towels during all our travels. We were greeted by Roberta with treats, coffees and hot chocolate when we arrived and when I explained that I was gluten free, she returned with gluten-free cookies....wow! The village is great for touring around and enjoying a delicious meal by the water in one of the quaint village cafe's. The park across the street was wonderful for the kids to get their energy out before a long flight home. It is very close to the airport , but the planes going by did not bother us and the drive to the airport included by the hosts was very convenient. This is a wonderful place and Roberta and Armando are very kind, I would highly recommend staying here! Thank you again and we hope to see you again soon.

We stayed at Albis one night before our flight home. Roberta and Armando are the best hosts and the rooms are lovely. Armando picked us up at the airport after we left our rental car and Roberta made us coffee with homemade pastries when we arrived (a short 5-10 minute drive). It's a pretty walk along the Tiber River, and great people watching too in the evening. I had asked Armando to make a reservation for us at his favorite fish restaurant and we had a wonderful meal. The next morning Roberta had coffee and a bag breakfast ready for us at 3:30 am, and Armando drove us back to the airport. If you need a place to stay near the airport, this is the place to stay.

Frank Macri recommend this beautiful B & B to us when we missed our flight out of Rome and because he speaks fluent Italian was able to secure lodging for us more easily than we could. Roberta and Armando are the most gracious hosts you could ever have and the venue is more like a boutique hotel than the usual B & B. Wonderful home baked breakfast goodies and egg/ meat breakfast for our hungry guys.Armando recommend wonderful dinner places and shuttled us to them.also shuttles to airport. We would go back to Rome just to stay at Albis.
Grazie Ro and Armando

L'Italia è uno dei luoghi che amiamo di più.
E' affascinante, romantico, dolce e caratteristico, spesso elegante.

Migliore, infatti.

Questa recensioni è anche la mia personale lettera di "ringraziamento" di Roberta e Armando per venire in nostro aiuto quando ci siamo persi;
venire a prenderci e ci portare nuovamente al vicino aeroporto... non una volta, ma quattro volte; portarci al perfetti ristoranti; rendere disponibile
lo spazio per gli amici di cui alcuni voli sono stati ritardati; per preparare magnifiche specialità della casa per la prima colazione;

Italy is one of the places that we love the most.
It is charming, romantic, sweet, quaint and often elegant.
If anyone were to wonder what makes Italy such a marvelous place, we would have to answer, "Italians".
Roberta and Armando are two such Italians. Happily for us (and a few other lucky travelers) they also own
Albis Bed and Breakfast in Fiumicino, Italy.

Albis B & B is wonderful. The accommodations are like the owners... charming, sweet, and romantic.
The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are scrupulously clean, the bathrooms are well-appointed with everything you need.
There is no pretension, no pool, no grand vista but Armando and Roberta do everything in their power (and often beyond) to make Albis feel just like home.
Better, in fact.

This review is also my personal letter of 'thanks' to Roberta and Armando for coming to our rescue when we were lost;
picking us up and dropping us off again off at the nearby airport... not once, but four separate times; bringing us to the perfect little restaurants;
finding space for friends whose flights were delayed;for preparing magnificent home-made treats for breakfast; and for making absolutely
certain that we were well-fed and well-rested for our travels.

Travel can be uncertain. Issues with the language, geography, history, or culture of a place can be challenging. As seasoned travelers,
my wife and I unreservedly recommend Albis to anybody looking for a quiet, clean, safe, charming, and friendly visit near Rome's airport.

As in many countries, Italy uses a star-based system to rank its hotels.
They use objective measurements like the size of the lobby, the vicinity of the elevator, even the number of towels in bathrooms.
Frankly, I don't know how many stars are on the Albis business card... and I don't care.
If stars were used to measure kindness, goodness, cleanliness, cuteness, comfort, service, dedication, quaintness, caring, deliciousness,
friendliness, sincerity, or any of the things that capture a traveler’s heart, then the Albis in general and Armando and Roberta specifically,
are the Milky Way of Bed and Breakfasts.
They deserve a galaxy of stars.

My husband, my sister and I stayed at the Albis B & B the last night of our 2 1/2 week trip in order to be close to the airport for our morning departure, as many people do. And I have to say, our last night in Italy couldn't have been better--except if we had been able to spend more time at the Albis B & B, basking in the warm hospitality of Armando and Roberta! From the moment he picked us up at the airport, Armando friendly and helpful--and he was tickled that we could more or less follow along if he spoke in Italian (although he can speak enough English to communicate). He and Roberta settled us into our rooms--two rooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, connected by a little entry/kitchen area. It was perfect for our group and the connecting area was great for stashing all our luggage. The rooms were comfortable, very clean, and outfitted with EVERY little amenity you could imagine. Even the drinks in the little refrige were free! And I was surprised how quiet it was, despite being close to the airport.

The next morning we went across the little outdoor courtyard area for breakfast before our ride to the airport--and what an amazing breakfast it was! Fresh fruit, and either an "American" breakfast of eggs and bacon or "Italian" breakfast with croissants, spreads, yogurt--and the crowning touch, Roberta's homemade tiramisu, which I can honestly say was the best I ever had! And then, she brought out wrapped sandwiches for us to take on the plane, because she knows how bad airplane food is! This was such a charming experience for us to end our trip with and definitely not something you can get at the big chain hotels. I agree with the reviewer below, who noted that despite only being guests for one night, the hosts treated us like we were friends or family who'd come to visit, a priceless experience!

What a great last night in Italy! Roberta and Armando are some of the most gracious and accommodating hosts we've ever encountered. We asked Armando about the bubbling fumarole, which recently appeared in Fiumicino and which we'd heard about on the news, and he insisted on driving us over to take a look at it. Our room was sparkling clean and filled with numerous little amenities like slippers, sewing kit, etc. just in case we needed them. Even the water and the juices in the fridge were complimentary. For dinner, we went to a restaurant which they recommended, La Dolce Vita, and had a phenomenal seafood meal. The bed at Albis was quite comfortable, the room was quiet, and the breakfast was excellent, including a delicious cake made by Roberta. We stayed in Fiumicino because we had to catch a plane the next morning, but we were pleasantly surprised by what a nice town it is, itself. We took an enjoyable evening walk along the river through town and then along the beach. What a welcome change Albis is from the sterile airport hotels we often stay in. Even though we only stayed one night, Armando and Roberta treated us as if we were friends who'd come to visit. Wish I could give Albis more than five stars!
