“It's not a cult....I think.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Pleasant but very small hotel family run with extremely friendly and helpful owners. Very clean. Not an ideal location but was grateful to be in a quiet part of town. The English crowd seemed to hold the owners up as Gods and I initially thought I had arrived at a cult hotel, I found that mildly nauseating. I couldn't believe how many people spent their days by the pimple-sized pool in 30c heat when there are lovely beaches in easy reach. Do yourself a favour, stay in this great little hotel but get out and explore the peninsular on a moped. 2 x beautiful gyros and a beer for 5 euros is to be found all over, a superb lunch. The local pastries and baklavas are to die for and the deserted beaches on the south of the peninsular are 20 minutes on a cheap moped. Enjoy the 'no helmet' freedom and see the villages.

Had a really good time, the weather was fantastic.Christina is a wonderful lady. One negative was the loudness of a few around the bar area late at night, but it was nipped in the bud by Christina and they were sent off with their tails between their legs, brilliant. All in all I would definitely recommend this small but lovely hotel to anyone.

Returned again this year for 2 weeks at the Ammos after a superb holiday last year and we were not disappointed the second time round. Christina , Vangelis and George are lovely people nothing too much trouble. When we arrived they remembered us from last year. Will hopefully return again.Christina remembers everyones first name. The Friday night BBQ is still very good and value for money and is a good way to meet the other guests. Enjoyed the resort and the restaurants particularly Georges, the Nefeli Garden restaurant and the Kapitania. The young fellow and girl are very obliging at the supermarket Vavdinos. They will change traveller cheques. Will hopefully return again next year.

What a gem of a place to stay, with Christina the diamond. What a lovely lady always in reception with a smile and a greeting for all her guests and George likes to have a laugh behind the bar. The resort is lovely quiet place with plenty of good restaurants the garden being our favorite, food and drinks were very cheap
The rooms and the communal area are clean and comfortable, although the pool area is small it is ample for the amount of guests that are staying. We had a great time with the guests that stayed the week we was there what a great crowd.
I would recommend this resort if you enjoy quiet relaxing (no karaoke yippee).

The Hotel Ammos was fabulous. Very clean, lovely welcoming staff, comfortable apartment (cleaned 6 days a week), ideally situated close to all local amenities and the beach and a good sized swimming pool which was very welcome on the hotter days. The owner Christina was something else! What a lovely lady. She made us feel so welcome, remembered our names, always greeted us warmly with a smile and hosted a brilliant barbecue on Friday night. The barbecue is strongly recommended and great value (10 euros) with plenty to eat and the statutory glass of ouzo to warm your windpipe.
HIghly recommended.

We have been going to this village for many years, but never stayed here before. We did not know what to expect, but things could not have been better. We had a wonderful greeting on our arrival. The room was really clean and well equipt. Christina the owner has a fantastic memory for names and always greeted you by your first name. Every where in the hotel is always clean and tidy. The hotel is situated at the top of the village with a pleasant walk to the beach. Although the return walk was uphill!!. We had a relaxing time and used the hotel just as a base. We can recommend the Ammos as a friendly hotel, and agree with all the other comments.

This was our first family holiday to Greece...and it wont be the last! The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, where the locals are very friendly. You do have to walk up a fairly short hill to get to the Ammos, but unless you suffer from a severe respiratory condition or one that badly restricts your mobility, it's really nothing at all. Christina, the owner is a wonderful host. Nothing is too much trouble for her and whilst the staff are very attentive they are in no way overbearing. The apartments are cleaned well every day except on a Sunday There is plenty of choice for eating out and all the meals we had were lovely. There is a fabulous bakery on a corner of the main street which we'd highly recommend, opposite which is a supermarket selling everything you could need. There are lots of medical centres should you need it - my husband needed his ears syringing, which was done immediately to good effect. The pool at the hotel is always immaculately clean - there are a few wasps, but they don't bother you. We'd recommend the barbecue - excellent food and more then you could possibly eat. The beach does get packed, but we found everyone really friendly down there. We had a great time and will certainly return for another holiday!
