Svinklov is a small gem for families (also generations) and singles looking for relaxation and revitlization. This fantastic and cozy looking hotel is right at the beach. Some rooms are small, some are reasonable large, some have view to the sea - some have own bathrooms, some share bathrooms with other rooms. All rooms including the restaurant etc. are very bright, the light is streaming through the windows. The "missing bathroom could maybe scare a few guests away, however, really it is not a problem at all (the bathroom facilities are kept very clean). There is a small nice annex as well and we stayed there this time. When checking-in your are taken back in time. Here the guests threat each other with respect and kindness. No mobile telephone calls, no television, and no wireless internet. Obviously you can not stay in this buble for weeks, however a few days here feels like much longer and you are a new person when checking out. In general the hotel is very basic but very well kept, and when the hotel close down in october, renovation takes place for the opening in April. There is really no meaning in recommending specific rooms, the hotel is very busy, as most guests here book one year prior to their holiday - so you have to go for whats available. The food and wine selection is excellent. We stayed for 3 days and had all our meals here, and really looked forward to the next dinner, breakfast or lunch. There is also quite a few outside guests for dinner and lunch, so you have to book on day prior as a resident guest
Svinklov is difficult to define, it is not a luxury hotel, however the atmosphere and general high standard makes you want to return.... which we will next year, and we already look forward to it. Drawbacks..... price .... if you eat all your meals her, the bill climbs, but hey, you only got one life
