This hotel was really great. The staff is super nice and welcoming. Prices were totally fair. Nice clean rooms, spacious and comfortable. the grounds are pretty and the pool is just the right size, very close to the beach. Good food and drinks. Overall awesome

Fodor's review was accurate. Welcoming place, whether you're staying there or stopping by for drink. Central location, close to beach. Basic pool, but hit the spot during the heat of the day. Staff was helpful.
We did the less expensive $50 no A/C room. Great bargain. Gilded Iguana clearly warned that these rooms were close to the action, so could be tougher to sleep, and they were right. But we prefer the open air type room in Costa Rica to hear the birds and Howler Monkies, so that was fine.
Bed was a little too firm for me, and room had some ants (most hotels do here), but otherwise the room was quite nice. We had a great time at Gilded Iguana, and would strongly recommend, at least for a few days.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was basic but we felt very safe. The pool was great for the children and we were just a few minutes walk to the beach. Nosara Surf Academy was just on site also and the Instructers were very professional and nice. The restaurant was great with a big menu to choose from. The staff were very nice and the management were very helpful and willing to help us make our stay as good as possible. I celebrated my birthday here and my meal of Thai Shrimp was devine!

The hotel was very relaxed, the room large and clean, the pool small but sufficient for what we needed, but the main pluses of the hotel were the people we met, the staff and the food. We stayed at the Gilded Iguana for 3 nights after a rather adventurous and active stay in the Arenal area and we were just looking for relaxation. For that it was absolutely perfect. The beach was in walking distance and was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel pool was fun for hanging out during happy hour. Great value for our money and nice change of pace from larger (and much more expensive) hotels.
We must have eaten almost everything on the menu and all was exceptional - with the exception of the fish tacos and the calamari - those were heavenly!
