“Beautiful Beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

It was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited. Incredible scenery with great surfing! However, this is a no frills beach. There are no restrooms, bars, or changing facility on the beach. There is a restaurant, Beach Dog Cafe, just off the beach with bathroom and great food.

“No crowds here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Nosara beach is a secluded, non developed beach. You won't see hotels crowding the beach. By ordinance they must be 500 meters in land. These types of beaches are rare these days. The beach is rustic and always kept clean. There are some makeshift huts that the locals have built which give the beach a feeling of being in a deserted island. If you like beache like Acapulco and Mazatlan, this beach is not for you !

“Undisturbed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

First and foremost, there are no structures on this beach. There is no boardwalk. There are no walkways and staircase from private homes. There are no hotels or private homes on this beach. All buildings are set waaaay back behind the treeline.

Of the three beaches in Nosara, Guiones is the best for surfing, swimming, or just playing around on the sand. The sand is long and wide during most levels of tide. Only at the annual highest tides do the beaches shrink significantly.

The waves are excellent for learning to surf as well as for advanced surfers. People also SUP there and swimming is easy too.

The sand is a medium color and a medium grain, so it's not hard on your feet, it doesn't stick to your stuff endlessly (i mean, a little. it IS sand.), and the temperature is generally comfortable. Though in the middle of the day, the dry sand can be blisteringly hot.

Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the beach, but you will see horses (and lots of horse poop) and bicycles.

“Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Large beach with big waves. Beach is fairly empty. Watch out when the tide comes in. Harmony Hotel has its own path to the beach.

“Surf it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

Head to overhead everyday! Very friendly locals! Beach break, no rocks. Waves are glassy and clean, best in the Am and switching to high tide.
