The staff & service are just amazing. The hotel, facilities and grounds are beautiful. The suites and amenities gorgeous. Loved riding around on the supplied bikes. The view is beautiful & pristing. The food was very good standard and interesting themes. We only had a quick visit but would highly recommend for those wanting something a bit different, a place that is truly relaxing and where the little details are taken care of. No request was a dram - staff were just so attentive and accommodating. Sunset cruise was absolutely beautiful - definitely do it. We were there as part of a work trip and required catering for our departure - the Food & Beverage Manager (name - Soon) and Chef both met with me. They were so professional. Soon is a credit to this establishment, he was so lovely and gracious. Take away food was of a high standard. Hope to come back and would highly recommend to our clients.

My husband surprised me by taking me to The Residence, Zanzibar for our honeymoon last year Feb. I didn't know what to expect but was absolutely speechless when we arrived.
From the very first person that greeted us, the service was exceptional. Something that other places should take lessons from.
We were whisked away to our private Sea-Front Villa on a golf cart and on arrival we were shown around the villa. I could not stop looking out on to the stunning view. Blue Skies, blue sea, the beach just foot steps away but the most beautiful of all- the silence. Just the pleasant sound of the soft waves and the palm trees swaying slowly in the wind- thats it!
I had never seen anything like it before....it was pure heaven!
The food in the resort was fresh, and tasteful. The dinning experience was unique as the head chef would personally ask his guests if the food was ok, and if not if there was anything else he could prepare for you.
We tried out some excursions including, the sun-set cruise (absolute bliss to say the least), and snorkelling (the husband enjoyed this more!). We also treated ourselves to a trip to the spa, which was excellent.
Overall our experience at The Residence, Zanzibar was just amazing and we would highly recommend it to anyone.
We would love to go back someday!

Stayed at The Residence in Kizimkazi, Zanzibar last week with my mother. The Residence has many fantastic qualites which can be summed up by stating that the setting, staff and service are top class. I took advantage of the opportunity to snorkel, it was great fun. The water is clear and warm and the guides friendly and knowledgable- this is free to hotel guests. We arranged an outing to a spice farm tour through the hotel which was really interesting. I highly recommended this resort.

Stayed here with my family in early January, the service is the hotel is excellent as is the accommodation and food. It is a pity that they have closed the Library bar as it would have pleasant to go for a drink in the evening away from the restaurant bar. I felt it lacked a centre in the evening after dinner. However this is a personal choice.
Overall a good experience and would recommend.
