Although some of you may find my title a little over the top....I can assure you that if you were to travel to this hotel, you would feel the exact same way!!
I'm going to try and give you a good run and several hints and tips so please bare with me....
To begin with.....
We arrived at Heraklion Airport just over midnight and by the time we had arrived at the hotel, it was well past 1am in the morning. However upon arrival, the reception staff were amazingly friendly and accomodating! As the complex is rather large and it was early morning, the hotel asked us to leave our luggage in the reception so that a member of staff could wheel them to our room using some gadget so he wouldnt make any noise. Great start!!!
As we were escorted to our room, we began to get a real feel for the place and I must say....it was a great feeling. The grounds of the hotel are imaculate!! Theres not a plant out of place nor a piece of rubbish, five stars to the caretaker!!!
The rooms are huge, very open and the bathrooms are amazing! (a really powerful shower provided).
The two pools are to die for, the spa is amazing (from what I heard) and the view from the hotel out to sea is just top notch!!
The food at the hotel is amazing!!! (I think it's clear that I LOVE this place!!). There is a buffet both for lunch and dinner meaning that you can pick whatever you fancy and try out new things. There really is something for everyone and even the fussiest eater would find plenty to much on. REMEMBER - Gentlemen are required to wear long trousers at the evening meal. P.S. The view from the dining area is beautiful - Especially at sunset!!!!
The hotel is well located and its private beach takes just 5 seconds to walk to.
Staff are friendly, really outgoing and even come to sit a chat with you in the evenings to see how your getting on.
*****If you get the munchies or want a midnight snack, there are two mini supermarkets very close to the hotel. If you leave to the rear of the hotel, turn to the left and follow the road to the next bend. Once you are on the bend, there is a supermarket on your left. The prices in here are very good and there are some home comforts here too! This supermarket has a good range to browse, including many gifts for those back at home. However if you leave the hotel to the front, there is a smaller supermarket located directly opposite the enterance. Their prices are a little bit more however it is a family run business as apposed to the other. This shop also has a different selection to the other.
****** If you wish to travel using the bus service from gouves, the easiest way to get to the bus stop is NOT they way that the holiday reps tell you. Heres the best....leave the hotel to the rear, turn to the left, follow the road, go past the supermarket mentioned above, upon arriving at the small church on the right, take the road to the left and then follow it all the way to the main road, once on the main road, turn to the right and the bus stop is located just before the petrol station. This route takes you along the coast thus, you recieve the cool sea breeze! Much better than trecking through fields like the reps said!!!!
****** Buses run every 15 minutes in both directions (towards Heraklion and towards Malia), buy your ticket from the conductor onboard and its job done!!
****** Try not to take the bus to Heraklion on a saturday as it is market day and all the locals go, meaning its very very very difficult to get a seat.
****** We went on holiday with Thomson and the holiday reps were rubbish!!! So get to know other holiday makers as they provided loads more info then what they did!! Boooooo
****** Thomson sell this hotel as adults only/couples however unlike some reviewers on here....they're going to be families with mature children (over 16/17ish).
****** Out the front of the hotel on the opposite side of the road is a great shop run by a local lady. Her goods are good quality and she will do plenty to help you buy the right items. Honestly, pop in and see her, im sure you'll find plenty of bargins!!!
******We had no problem with sunbeds and always managed to find some and to be honest......you shouldnt want to sit in one all day anyway. Your on a beautiful island, go exploring!!!!!
******The thomson excursion to spingalonga is immense!!!!!!!!!!!! Please research this attraction, read about it and then go, you'll be blown away!
Theres probably a million things I have left off this review but please please please go if you are thinking about this hotel, you really will not regret it. I myselft never wanted to leave and to be honest I can't think of anything better than to return next year!!
