This is for the locals- but they produce excellent food at good prices. Pasta, grills, and pizza once a week. Don't be put off by the shop downstairs and brown wood. This was the centre of the boar hunting season for years and years. (Check out the photos) They do wonderful things with Fungi Porcini during the season. We used to come once a year during the late 80s and 90s. Haven't been back since 2002. Lovely to see how little it has changed!

The drive up to La Terrazza was one of the scariest I've ever had! It was very quiet - only us four eating, early on a Monday evening - but we were made welcome. The interior is a bit gloomy and the animal heads are a bit off-putting, but they are in fact wonderfully prepared specimens. There must be a wonderful view during the day. The food was good, though not special; the roast rabbit I had was rather dry. Usual prices for the area as well. Thankfully the drive down the hill was shorter than the drive up!

We were a group of 10 on a hiking holiday and stayed at the hotel which is part of La Terrazza restaurant. The rooms were basic, which I expected for a two star hotel, but the bathrooms were "wet rooms" with no way to dry the floor after a shower, which made it slippery & dangerous using the bathroom afterwards.

I was excited about the food part of the holiday because of the wonderful write-ups from both the travel company (Ventura - who I wouldn't travel with again!) - and the good reviews on TripAdvisor. However, I feel that because we were a group that we were fed like the poor relations.

Breakfast : consisted EVERY day of rotting fruit, ham & cheese, yoghurt, bread rolls and after the third day we were treated to one tupperware container of own-brand bran flakes to share between the group. Can't tell you how excited we were when we spotted the cereal on the table alongside the bowl of uneaten bruised, wrinkly, maggot-ridden fruit.

Dinner each evening : We weren't given a choice - just a set menu each evening, which was front-loaded with carb-laden cheap stodge which was designed to fill us up before the main course arrived so that we didn't want much of the meat course, thus keeping down costs. The other diners in the restaurant were treated to wonderful smelling & looking dishes that wafted past us every evening.

Although on the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful, and everywhere was clean. I wouldn't go back to either hotel or restaurant again.

Found this after checking in at the Renaissance, Il Ciocco and looking for lunch. It is a bit of a drive, but we found the little village of Albiano and the restaurant. It was just about noon, and the restaurant was empty - we thought it was closed. An elderly gentleman leaned out of the window above the café on the square and gesticulated that we should go back to the restaurant and that it was open. We had ravioli with butter and herbs and a grilled steak that translated as sirloin. In fact, it was a small T-bone steak. Both were delicious. Yet another small, out of the way restaurant in Italy that beats the tourist traps by miles.
