“why stay anywhere else?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

Just an exquisite, quiet place to stay. You will not find rooms more beautiful and comfortable. Lovely, welcoming staff as well. Next door is a fine restaurant as well. It is an oasis in a beautiful Renaissance village.

Loved Barga and loved this B&B! We stayed here for 4 nights on the last leg of our 2 week trip to Italy having been in Rome & Florence. The excellent accommodation, pretty village and lovely people soothed us and we felt totally embraced by the calmness of our stay here. We stayed in the sun room - which is beautifully thought out with lovely views over the trees and distant hillside. The free minibar with top products was a treat, as was all the artwork in the B&B. Kathy helped us loads too with trying to sort out things we were planning to do - esp when speaking Italian was helpful. Can't recommend a stay here enough - it was bellissima!!

This is such a unique and wonderful B&B. The very old building has been completely renovated and is ultra modern. We even had a 3D TV. The amenities were awesome- a complimentary mini-bar refrigerator with beer, wine, water, juice and snacks-plus a jar of biscotti. Breakfast was everything we could have wanted- yoghurt, cereals, pastries, meats cheeses and fresh fruit. Cathy arranged for us to tour an organic winery in the area which was very cool. She made dinner reservations for us and arranged for an early breakfast at a neighboring restaurant.
The town is unique- completely walled- in fact you can't drive up to the B&B- you have to park outside the gates and walk thought the most quaint cobblestone street- more of an alley to get to the B&B. The local restaurants were amazing.

Wow! My husband and I came here for two nights during our honeymoon and were amazed by our beautiful room (as well as the breakfast area), the great attention to detail which was apparent everywhere you turned your head, the personal and from the heart service we got from Walter, and basically everything about this place. We were sad to leave, but we really hope we can come back to Barga in the future for a longer period of time, and then we'll visit the Acchiappasogni again. The room was beautiful, with impressive artwork and books, as well as a free (!!!) minibar and snacks, special toiletries, and a TV that can also serve as a computer screen with free WIFI. Walter, our host and the owner of this wonderful B&B, was incredibly helpful - he gave us many tips about where to go in the area, as well as maps and pamphlets. It seemed as though he was never tired of lending a hand in making our stay better. Just a tip for guests - the B&B is in the historical center of Barga, so if you come by car you actually get to the hotel with it, you have to park it outside the old city walls. The B&B is only a few minutes' walk from there, and the B&B's staff is happy to come and help with carrying luggage, so this is not a real problem, but we think it's nice to know this in advance.

My husband and i stayed at this hotel for 4 nights b&b and i couldn't fault it. I f you are looking for quiet, small, romantic, intimate with perfect attention to detail, then this is the place. This hotel only has 3 rooms, a small hallway and dining room all on the one level.2 of the rooms include a lounge area. The mini bar is free and is restocked daily. It contained pepsi, fanta , beer, water and proseco also chocolate and peanuts. Nice toiletries are supplied. The hotel is contained within an old city wall, through an arch way with narrow streets with small restaurants and shops. rather like a maize or mini venice without the canals. Thier is a church within the walls which you can climb towards, with some beautiful views of the area. The breakfast for me was just simple and ok with fresh juice, cheeses, cured ham, yogurt, muesli, coffee and pastries. Just fabulous!! My expectations of this place were not disappointed.

A small, 3 room B&B. But "B&B" seems hardly the right description: It is really a small paradiso!
Beautiful, clean, comfortable, quiet. Our Sole room had two beds and a small living area. The breakfast is excellent, and features delicious meusli and yoghurt (a rarity in Italy!) Kathy, the manager, is delightful and helpful. Of course, as she is an American, her English is perfect.
The restaurant next door is highly recommended as well, and the B&B clients receive a discount. Also, and this is quite unusual, there are (free) treats in the room: a plateful of biscotti, and a stocked mini-bar (Proseco, Heineken's, candy, peanuts, water, soft drinks). Finally, the bathroom amenities are exquisite.

Room Tip: Two couples could take the Sole room..maybe a bit crowded, but do-able.

We stayed at the Acchiappasogni for a week in April. We had a wonderful experience. Cathy and Walter are excellent hosts. The attention to detail is admirable. Our room (Sole, the most expensive of the three) was spacious, very well furnished, and had the added benefit of a small lounge. The owners love their art and all things beautiful which they like to share with their guests. The breakfast room has a lovely 'fire feature' in the middle of the room and the walls have wonderful artwork, including a beautiful painting by Bellany. Breakfast was fantastic: plenty of choice and varied. Every room has a free minibar which was re-stocked every single day. Plenty of fresh towels, slippers and toileteries every day made our stay even more special. The heating/aircon system makes the B&B suitable all year round although we would recommend autumn and sping in particular as the Acchiappasogni is located right in the centre of the historic town, an ideal start for many walks during the day and for lovely meals in the evening.
An additional benefit is the fact that Cathy is American/Italian and Walter speaks good English. Therefore, guests who speak only English will be well looked after.
Thank you Cathy and Walter.
