“Can't wait to go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

We spent Monday night here! What a great place! It was so much fun. We met all sorts of nice people. We ate a great meal with agreat glass of beer. We sat by the fire and talked with more people. The atmosphere promoted fun and meeting people. The cabins were nice and clean and the beds comfortable. Scenery fabulous.People fabulous. Planning another visit already!

While camping several years ago on the Lochsa River, stopped by to have an early dinner. Nice main lodge and beautiful deck, but food was poor. Returned in late June. Staff was downright snarly checking in. Cabin was poorly maintained. Even the grounds are shabby. The deck chairs were broken, The shower head put out streams of water like needles. And bare lightbulbs throughout. Dinner on the deck was so so. Deck nice, food poor..Returned one entree as it so terrible. Thankful that the snarly staff member wasn't our server for dinner. This lodge could be so special if someone cared. All and all, cabins overpriced, but okay if you just want to have a beer or two on the deck!

Every staff member we met was outstanding - cheerful, efficient, helpful. It's a lodge. It's rustic in some respects but what a great atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying trip! Quiet, laid back, super.

This mountain gem is absolutely beautiful. I loved my stay here. The main lodge is impressive with a very nice dining/bar area. Although I didn't dine in the lodge the menu looked very nice. The cabins are very nice and reasonably priced. I stayed in Cabin #12 which was fine although next time (very soon!) I want to stay in one of the Rustic Cabins. I liked their screen-in front porch and I really don't need a bathroom like The Cabins offer. It was enjoyable to see many people arrive from various places throughout the country. When I returned home I was already planning my trip back.

I highly recommend this place. One of the best mountain lodges I've ever stayed in!

Room Tip: My first choice of cabins would be the Rustic Cabins - #9, #7 & #10 Second choice would be The...

Over the past 5 years we have stayed at and eaten at the lodge. The rooms are just OK in the summer and we prefer to stay in our RV at the USFS camp grounds below the lodge. Th food is just awful and the continually poor quality of the foods served remains. In the summer you can not get a milk shake. The B-Fst is un-inspired and the simple burger on a bun is generally bad...real bad. In the summer the bar is good for a cold beer and that is about it. The wi-fi signal is slow to glacial ......the owners need to sell out to some investors with deep pockets that can build a real lodge building, hire someone other than amateurs, get a real bill of fare for eats and turn this into something other than a disapointment.....the problem is that the owners have a corner on the market with customers having to drive way down river or over the pass....Worst of all, we meet the same folks every year in the USFS campgrounds and they all say the same thing....it's good for a beer and that is about it.

Room Tip: Go to the USFS camp ground

This is a great place to stay. Comfortable, nice dining and easy access to downhill and X country ski trails nearby. I plan to go back each and every winter!
