“Secluded comfort in charming Coramandel Town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

These villas are spacious and very well appointed. David was friendly and informative. We had a pleasant and interesting walk into Coramandel Town along the Heritage Trail and would recommend dinner at the Pepper Tree and pizza at Umu and best ever sandwiches from Driving Creek Cafe. The soak in the outdoor, secluded hot tub after a magical day on the Coramandel Walkway was heaven.

We had 3 nights here last week and loved it. Very spacious and private, with everything one could need. We used the gas BBQ in the garden one evening and borrowed the bikes the other two evenings to cycle the 3km into Coromandel Town for dinner (Success Cafe excellent and PepperTree good). The bikes were much better than most hire bikes - decent quality Giant mountain bikes. Very well-equiped kitchen and great shower. Our only slight issue was that the hot tub never got above 29degC. David had showed us how to work it, but somehow it was never hot enough. However, we could have contacted him for help, and hot tubs are not of sufficient importance to us, so we did not bother... he was very helpful so I imagine we could have got this sorted if we had wanted to. For us 3 nights was about right, as we also stayed at Ferry Landing to do the other side of the peninsula, but I think a family using the villas could stay longer and use it as a base for exploring much of the Coromandel. David also helped with a suggestion to use Coromandel Adventures for a trip to the northern tip - excellent.
Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights as part of a 6 week trip. We could easily have spent the whole 6 weeks there. We have visited NZ twice before over the past 5 years and sampled many different accommodations but this is by far the best. The villas have everything, location, secluded but still within easy reach of local shops and restaurants. As other reviews comment the villa is very clean and well appointed. David is a great host, very helpful and quickly responded to anything we needed. We will certainly go back on our next trip.

We stayed for two nights (not long enough!) to escape the maddening crowds on Waiheke. Driving Creek Villas were the perfect antidote. Quiet, secluded, tranquil and pristinely clean. We loved the hot tub and David was the perfect host, collecting us from the town centre and ensuring we had everything we needed. It's a ten out of ten from us and we will be booking again!

Everything about the villa was just right. The attention to detail, tasteful decor and the provision of everything one could need is exceptional and at a good price. The beautiful garden and landscaping (leading onto a reserve) ensures a tranquil, secluded stay. My only regret was not being in a position to stay longer but will certainly be booking again.

My family (10 of us including 4 grand children) rented the 3 villas that comprise the property for 3 nights. We had a spectacular time in the Coromandel area and the stay was dramatically enhanced as a result of the villas ambiance. Set in a private, lush, location, each villa had lawns, privacy fencing and was surrounded by lush landscaping. There was even a bridge over the Diving Creek which one could walk just a few feet from the villas.

I wholeheartedly recommend staying here if Coromandel is your destination.

To echo the sentiments expressed by others - no hesitation recommending this is a fabulous accommodation option. We stayed for four nights over the Christmas break and didn't want to leave. Our villa, Tokatea, had everything we needed and more for the two of us; and more than comfortably accommodated my parents joining us for some of our stay as well. Highlight was definitely the hot tub and sitting on the lounger while the BBQ is warming up. We used the bikes to get into town and out for lunch at the Mussel Kitchen (recommended!), but a car would be recommended for trips further afield to one of the many beaches in the region. Our host David, made us feel absolutely welcome.
