After teaching for two terms Barry Brickell decided teaching wasn't for him (wise man) and decided to make his living as a potter. To cut a long story short, having bought a piece of land on which to live and work and for practical reasons, he began to create his own 15 inch gauge railway studying and learning the necessary engineering as he went along.
Over thirty years later the engines and carriages Barry has designed and built, and the track he has personally laid take visitors on a wonderful hour long journey through replanted native forest and past quirky artwork created by Barry himself or fellow artists.
The view from The EyeFull Tower at the top of the hill, across the hills and sea is wonderful and would be worth the journey alone. However, it is the endearing quality of this venture and the enthusiasm of the employees that makes this place so special. Special thanks go to Paul, our train driver, for his friendly, interested and enthusiastic attitude which helped make this visit so special for us.
